Horses
xdonna
I went to see the "world famous Lipizzaner show"  Now I know I should have done a bit more "research" but I just assumed it was the Horses from the Spanish Riding school in Vienna but they weren't. The horses are Lipizzaner  but are trained by in America and then sent round the world doing shows. The horses were Ok but the big fat American compare was condescending and grating. He spoiled the whole show most of which was taken up by him talking.
Now I have seen the Spanish riding school in action when they came to Wembly in 1977 and again 1985. I got my old programs out to check. Now they managed to fill the whole  program with horses and no annoying compare. Oh well the "real" Lipizzaner's are coming to Birmingham in November but I have no way of getting there

War of the Worlds
xdonna
It was bloody fantastic. I have always liked the album but to see it live with orchestra and rock band and singers the best two were Justin Haywood just because he was the original one and Russell Watson who did a very good Parson Nathaniel. The animation/live action big screen show just added to the whole thing. I never imagined I would see it live but I did and it was better than I could have hoped.

Long time...
xdonna
Its beeen awhile but as no one ever comments on my stuff I feel no one has been missing me. Had a very nice Easter ate far too many huge eggs and are now bloated and spotty I know aren't I kind to share. The bloody oven broke down again. This is the second time in 3 years..We phoned the repairman told him what was wrong. He managed to get out to us a week later and tell us it was what we said it was (a thermo-couple) and he would order it !!!! It is 2 weeks later and we are still waiting. I have a hob and a mini oven its OK but only one shelf and not much fits I am tired of having to fry stuff may be that is why I am spotty not the chocolate. We spent the weekend painting the hallway, stairs and landing. It took a long time but was worth it. Everything looks so much better now but the smell of paint is still lingering.
My web page has been down for nearly 48 hours now and no one at pipex seems in the least bothered. IT might not be much to them but I love it and I has got to 14,500 visitors and was hoping to celebrate my 15,000 soon but at this rate I will never see it again and nor will anyone else.
It is nearly the end of the Easter holidays and it is a double edged sword as I like the time off but hate the streets and swimming pool being filled with horrible kids. Half of whom shout "hello Mrs Hutchings" when I am doing my best to ignor them.
Oh well one day everything will be well
I think that is everything from the last few weeks of anything remotely interesting I wonder if that is why people don't comment as it is all so mundane.

Saturday
xdonna
We actually got out without the kids!! the eldest was working and the thirteen year old was left at home!! with instructions not to open the door to mad axe murderers. We did some shopping then sat down and had a quiet cup of tea and a cake. No moaning,no are we finished yet,no arguing,  just peace to drink at the speed we wanted.  It was nice we really must get out more when the highlight of our week was a drink in a Starbucks!!

Idiot
xdonna
Ok so I should not be calling my husband an idiot but ...Thursday night he went to go ringing at Blackburn and on the way stopped at a petrol station and filled up with petrol...which wouldn't have mattered if our car wasn't a diesel  !!!!  He realised as soon as he had finished which was good as it meant he hadn't started it. So he had to get a pick up truck to take him to a garagein Bury  which could clean out the petrol and then get him going again. He was 3 hours late home, £200 poorer and never did get ringing. I hope he doesn't do that again.

I went to see the Apassionata show yesterday . It was really good I enjoyed it all the more as the kids and husband who would have hated it (poncing about to music with horses) weren't there they dropped me off and went and did boy stuff. More Snow
xdonna
It was great lots of snow Saturday night...only trouble was my eldest, who's birthday was Sunday he's 17 bless, was out with the Scouts on a night hike!!! They were to do 12 "bases" ending up on the biggest hill round here called Winter Hill. We were quite concerned when awake at 3.15 am and we looked out the window... but he phoned at 9am to be picked up so he was alright. The Scout leaders had abandoned the hike before they got to Winter Hill and gone back to base which was a school hall so they had spent part of the night there.!!
He opened his cards and then we headed back out to the local park Worden and had a great time playing snowballs and building snowmen. The dog enjoyed ploughing through the snow with its face then sneezing to get the snow out its nose. There were not many other people out that day. Good day all round

the snow has gone but before it did it turned to ice on the steps outside our house and hubbie slipped and fell. He is Ok but rather brused and he has a big hole in his arm I have just had to put a big plaster on it. He did manage not to drop the box he was holding which was sweet but there was nothing of value or brakeable in it !! Oh well off to get blood stains out his shirt an sweatshirt.

Snow
xdonna
Finally we got some SNOW !!!! yayyyyy
I had a snowball fight with my youngest and the people next door. It was really snowing and we had a great time. Robert then went to his friends to play some more. I got tea on then Richard came home and I had another fight with him. Sadly by this time it had stopped snowing and was melting but we still had fun. Then after tea I went back out but the sky had cleared and everything just turned to ice and wasn't as much fun. Well it wasn't much snow just one afternoon really but we really enjoyed it all the same

Teenagers....
xdonna
Well it has  been very quiet this last few weeks very little of anything but work and spring cleaning going on. The cleaning is boring but it has to be done and I feel very smug when its finished. It isnt yet but I am more than half way,
Anyway my youngest, my baby boy, turned 13 yesterday !! It really doesn't seem like its been that long. He has been getting grumpy for a few months now and he has grown his hair very long! but I am waiting for the spots and the sweaty armpits to arrive. He had a sleep- over which I was dreading as 3 over excitable boys in one small bedroom seem ripe for disaster but they were very good and one arguement at 1.15 AM !! with older brother was the worst bit. I was glad when the friends left this morning. Early bed for me to catch up on my sleep.

Sunday
xdonna
This Sunday we went into Liverpool and to Chinatown to see the New Year celebrations. There wasn't a huge amount going on one dragon dancing and 3 lions one of which was climing up to grab lucky money being dangled from windows and lots of fire crackers. We watched for an hour but nothing much else was happening I think we got there too early. We will go later next year. Had a KFC then to Albert docks and got a Duck ride!!!. There are bright yellow WW 2 amphibious vehicles which take you round the streets then into the docks themselves and you have a good ride. They make sure you get a bit wet as if the splash into the water dosen't get you the driver with the water pistol does. The 2 men doing the tour were great fun and had everyone laughing. Well worth a go if you get the chance. I have to admit to a little lie when we paid the tickets. I said my eldest was 15 which meant we got a family ticket ( he's 16!!!)  Oh dear telling lies in front of the kids.

Other than the confusion in my tiny mind and I have spent the entire day thinking its Wednesday!! I am fine My cold is on its way out but hubbie has just started on his but as I gave it him I "shouldn't" get it again. I have finally set the alarm today. I know it sounds stupid but I am a little afraid of setting it  in case it goes off. I know its supposed to but we live in a quiet area and I have always cursed those who let there alarms ring all day. But I did it and everything seems OK so far. The neighbours we like have a key and the code so they can always shut it off. Off to drop huge hints as to what I want for my birthday

We had a burglar alarm fitted yesterday. Two nice young men came round and did it for us. Oh boy what mess carpets up the bathroom cupboard emptied out and the boys rooms shelves and PCs having to be moved but what was worse they wanted us to move the bookcases in our bedroom!! This my not sound like much but they have been there screwed to the wall since we last decorated that room. Which was about 8 years ago! so it was with some disquiet as to what we would find we cleared them of books and moved them. I am very pleased that although there was a thick layer of dust there wasn't much else. I have cleaned it all up before we spent the late afternoon and early evening putting it all back. I did not feel like cooking so we went out to Chiquitos a Mexican restaurant. It was lovely and even the boys found something they liked Today I am still hoovering up and putting things back to normal.

Back to School and all the lovely children! (some of them anyway)  Horrible rainy day and everyone had to stay indoors so instead of letting off steam in the playground, they were all crammed in the classsroom. None of them seem to wat to be back at school and I was in full agrement with them. Other than that nothing of any interest has happend. I can not believe that anyother year has gone. The time is slipping away and I am not getting younger Why did the days seem so long when I was 10 but now I blink and a month has passed. I guess its an age thing and the less time you have left the quicker it goes.

New Year
xdonna
Well I spent most of yesterday taking down all the decorations. They did look very nice but the tree was dropping needles and the dog was trying to eat them so we packed everything up. Four large boxes and 4 huge bags of stuff shoved in the attic until next time . I love putting them all up but it looked so much less cluttered when it all comes down. and I get to see all my cows!
There is a picture on my web page if anyone is interested

Happy New Year
xdonna
Ha haven't done an entry since last year !!!
We had a good time we went to Liverpool for the fireworks but  it is at a sensible time, 5pm! So we were able to ge there and back and enjoy the show without worring about  drunks and loonies. It was a stunning show lights, lazers, smoke ,music and gas cannon type things which shot gas ball in to the air you could feel the heat. Oh and there were a huge amount of fireworks not bad considering its free. We got home and went next door for nibbles and drinks ( they had invited us round) Then outside to welcome in the New Year watching everyone elses fireworks one son stayed up the other went to bed at 10pm.

King Kong
xdonna
Went to see the new version yesterday. I didn't like it it was very slow and VERY long winded. The film lurched from one set piece to another and the special effects were so in your face they became cheesy. It was more a case of we can do this so we will rather than the effects helping the plot along. I was glad when the end came. We didn't leave early because hubbie had dropt me and the youngest off and gone off to look at gadgets and we had arranged to be picked up when the film ended and at least the cinema was warm, dry and we had a seat.

Christmas
xdonna
Well despite all the drama leading up to Christmas it was very good. A peaceful day everyone got what they wanted for Xmas I got a new diamond ring, paint your own cow parade cow and a pair of battling daleks. Although I had to wait until Boxing day before I could play with them as hubbie forgot to get me any batteries for them. I had enough for all the kids toys but not my toys. We didn't see ANY relatives which was nice as they are all to far away. It makes Christmas so much nicer.

My poor cat
xdonna
My poor old cat had to spend the day at the vets yesterday as he has explosive diarrhea .Not nice and VERY smelly. Now you have to understand he is an outdoor cat always has been. He comes in of a morning to eat and if it is raining stays in to snooze but is wanting to be out again by lunch time what ever the weather and comes back for his tea. So a whole day in a cage at the vets wasn't his idea of fun. We took him in and the vet didn't hold out much hope asa he is rather elderly(15 years) We had to leave him and I was convinced we would not see him again so I left the vet in tears. But we went back and despite all the tests there is nothing majorly  wrong.  He is just very old and showing it. We have to stop the runs or he will starve to death so he has a week to get better (we have tablets) or his weight loss will be unsustainable. We are all now watching him very carefully.

Well its not, hubbie has already stopped work for the holidays. He had his first day off today. I kept telling him he should have more time off in the summer. I don't get to finish until next Wednesday when the schools break up. It is going to be manic next week over excited kids with not much school work to do and the teachers keep bringing in choolate for treats. If it was me they would be working harder from now with no treats and no partys..bah humbug....

Christmas

Well I am all but done now. The cards are written and stamped and will be posted off tomorrow. The ones for local delivery are written. I have posted the ones to far flung corners of England. All the main presents are bought and wrapped. The only thing I haven't got is an extra present for the youngest as he is sulking. He wanted a computer game , its not my fault the release date has been put back to March 2006 and there is nothing I can do about it but he can't decide on anything else. One more present  to arrive by post and the crackers to make and I will be done
Other than the huge shop on the 22nd for the Xmas food and booze.Ahhh Tescos at 6.30 in the morning nice and quiet.

Well we made there and back and Egypt was stunning. The Pyramids are so much bigger than I expected  I know they are big but so much more impressive in real life. The Mask of Tutankhamun  was as beautiful as expected. It was a wonderful holiday and Egypt is a good place to go. But no crocodiles they are all behind the great dam in Aswan but I did ride a camel and was so scared that after 15 minutes I had to get off but at least I tried!

nothing but rain
xdonna
And that has been about it since we came back from Kent lots and lots of rain. The fireworks at Worden Park were OK didn't last very long but at only £2 each it wasn't bad. Rather spoilt by the drunken youths *singing* and I use that word very loosely to the music playing in the background. The park was very muddy and you could feel the mud sucking at your boots we did get home OK but in the North West they seem obsessed with fireworks. There was lots on Friday and Saturday it was continuous from about 5pm to midnight. The same on Sunday it seems to have quieted down now.
I got the funny money from the bank today and now we have everything we need for our trip. The waiting is killing me. I feel like a kid again waiting for Christmas it does not feel it is getting any nearer.

trip 3 ( the End)

Monday pouring with rain we decided we could not sit around any more and we went into Canterbury for the morning. The boys have never been to see the Cathedral. Even though Richard our eldest was born in Canterbury. There is no "voluntary" donations these days it was £12 to get us in. It is still beautiful and very eerie in places. The we ate a pizza hut and I did some shopping. Back to Mothers and spent from 3pm to 8 pm ...you guessed chatting !!! I had hoped that having been out in the morning would have made it better but it didn't still as boring as hell. Said goodbye and on the Tuesday headed home boy was that good. The boys have been glued to their PCs since.

Parent Trip pt 1
xdonna
Ok a easy drive down only took 5 hours the M25 was actually moving and the Dartford crossing was OK.
Got to the Travel Lodge clean, small but it has everything we wanted.
Then to my sisters,we arrived at 3pm, they were all waiting for us Mum,Dad.other sister, brother in law, niece and her boyfriend. Had a drink then spent the rest of the afternoon chatting. It was SOOOO boring. I thought so the 2 boys were beside themselves and Robert wasn't polite he kept saying so. Mum had ignored what I said and *organised* us for Sunday but I said we had other plans and she sulked the rest of the time but we stuck to our guns. Finally escaped at 8 pm a long day. The night wasnt good either all 4 of us were in one room and all the beds had plastic undersheets and every time anyone moved they rustled. I was wake lots of times in the night.

Oh no......MOTHER.......!
xdonna
Now don't get me wrong I do love my Mum and Dad but I just don't want to have to go and see them It is a long way and none of us 4 want to go but I feel we havn't been for a long time and duty calls.
I wish it was different and we *wanted* to go and see her but we don't. We will spend all the time there sitting in the lounge "chatting" which will bore the 2 boys senseless. The TV is not allowed to be on as we are guests there is no PC, no games console and by the end of the weekend we will be very relived to get home. Thankfully we are staying at a Travel Lodge which means we can escape  and have a breather away from them and have other relatives to call on but she has already phoned and is trying to *organise * us into what she thinks we should be doing and who we should see. But I have put my footdown and said we will make plans as we go along and see what the weather is like.
Wish me Luck...

Both the doors on the drivers side are damaged and will need to be replaced. I know its a company car but there is still the excess to pay and when the Espace goes into repair the replacement car will be a Ford Ka!!! I so hope not  :'(
At least no one is hurt.

Argos
xdonna
We went to Argos ( a UK store) and got our son a computer desk. We picked that one as in the catalog it was a very narrow width. Got it home unpacked and put it together it was 10 cm bigger. My hubbie wasn't pleased and blamed me for reading the numbers wrong. He had to cut notches in the up-rights on the shelf unit above the new desk to get it in. I found the Argos Catalogue and pointed out that it *did* say 60cm and not 70cm he was rather grudging about his apology. I retaliated and went and brought a new cow

Morcambe Bay
xdonna
We went to Morcambe on Sunday. It was a lovely day lots of people as it was a heritage gala day. There were vintage vehicles and most of the people who owned then had dressed in the period of the car/fire engine/army truck they were with. It looked very nice.
We had lunch on the sea front although to tide goes so far out there it was all mud and no sea. Then walked out along the restored pier and waited..Dead on time the Red Arrows appeared. It was a great display and how ever many times I see them I still wince when they do their "head on" fly pass and only nearly miss.
We then walked along the beach had an ice cream and the Battle of Britain memorial flight arrived the 2 smaller planes do some very low runs and buzzed the pier. The Lancaster came over several times. They seem so big and slow I wonder how any of them ever got home again
All in all a nice day and a easy drive home.

Back to work
xdonna
Well is wasn't as bad as I feared. I only have 2 rather rough kids this year who 'accidentally' knock into each other rather than the 3 last year who had mental problems and although couldn't really help themselves did make life difficult for all. We also have a new system at lunch time which means all the lunch times have changed and although it seems to be good it is taking some getting used too. One of our ladies is in a panic and threatening to leave as its 'too different' to what she is used to. It has only been 2 days give it a chance. We have tried to get her to listen to reason but I don't know if it worked!

Cornwall
xdonna
A very nice holiday we had the weather was kind a few really hot days some cool and only one afternoon of rain.
I finally got to Tintagel. I have always wanted to see the place but the last couple of  times we have been to Cornwall time and traffic have consipred to thwart me. A stunning place but there is a lot of "up" stairs, cliffs ect
You never seem to be going down.
We went swimming in the sea everyday brought ourselves cheap masks and watched the crab and ali sorts of little fish swimming in the banks of seaweed along one side of the cove the reat was flat and sandy. The is no shop in Portmellon but a lovely Pub we brought pints of the local cider and sat on the sea wall of an eveing watching the tide come in.
Also went to Eden we did warn the kids not to eat any apples but they didn't get the joke. Again a really nice place lots to see and the tropical dome does get very hot!. We were all interested saw things growing which we see in the shops everyday but not growing. Rice, satumas, lemons Aubergenes and tea plants and hemp! but the signs said it was a new variety which is good for natural rope but the narcotic properties  had been bred out.
Then there was the Owl Sanctuary that was the only time it rained but we had the tour lots of lovely owls. The flying display was indoors which meant  they could only fly the Barn Owl and I got to hold it !! I put the big leather glove on and it landed on my hand. It was so light  I could not feel the weight of it and so soft.
We had a days boat trip out to Fowley a nice calm trip didn't see any thing of interest other than lots of sailing boats.
Well that was our  week away.

Cleaning
xdonna
I know, I know boring but it has to be done and when better than in MY holiday!
I have finished the kitchen today and althought I hate doing it. I am pleased with myself for actually getting on and finishing it.
I have cleaned out every cupboard then crawled round the kick boards and cleaned those. I have done the oven (ugh) but to those in the UK Fairy Power Spray actually works rather well!!
Then came the tins I have a shelf running around 3/4 of the kitchen which is crammed with advertising tins of all shapes and sizes there are over 100 of them they look very nice and decorative. Until that is they need taking down and cleaning. I have to climb up and down the ladder to reach  and it takes forever to get then down wash them dry them they put it all back. I should do this more often but once a year is enough.
It is all done now and can start to look forward to our summer holiday to Cornwall in a few weeks. I can start on the organizing/washing/ironing and packing!

Morgage 2
xdonna
Well it is still lovely to be living in "our" house but it is strange because nothing has changed. We may have paid it all off but it remains the same, same everything. There is nothing to show that we have suceeded in clearing it. I wish there was a sign a banner or something to show the world what we have done. I know on the world scale its nothing but to us it is a big deal. We have spent thousands and thousands of pounds  and twenty years to get where we are and nothing has changed.
Never mind I expect it is just the euphoria and champagne wearing off.

School holidays...
xdonna
The school I work at has just broken up for 6 weeks lovely holidays. I am nothing more than a humble dinner lady( and I am sure the "lady" bit is them being kind)
I like the long holiday but there is a problem or 2 problems aged 12 and 16 and they are home as well which rather takes the shine off. They fight and bicker and moan about each other and by next Monday they will be bored even though they have more electronic gagets than I ever dreamed about. I didn't even get a  TV in my room until I was 18.
So my holiday will be 6 weeks of arguing boys and oh I have a house to spring clean. Joy of joys an oven to scrub. It almost makes me wish for work(almost but not quite)

Meatloaf............ROCKS...!!!!!!
xdonna
And he does too! I had a great night in Liverpool at the Big Top Arena. Meatloaf  was as ever  brilliant he really knows how to move a crowd. We were all dancing and singing along. The only downside was the 4 drunk women behind us who were dancing while drinking I had more beer in my hair than I actually like. It was funny when the really fat one fell over and could not get up again. None of her friends seemed concerned and they were laughing too. Did not want the concert to end but Bat out of Hell live is always a treat how ever many time I hear it.
And remember...

Blackpool
xdonna
Had a lovey day on the beach at Blackpool yesterday. There was sun sand, warmish water. The kids stopped arguing and the airshow was great.
Their was a Spitfire, mosquito, harrier, tornado, helicopter display team( I didn't know helicopters could fly upside down or backwards) Then the Red Arrows I like to get to see them every year and they are still great. In all a great 3 hours of free enterainment. I am just sorry I didn't speak to the man on the beach who I am sure was the historian Dan Cruckshank. If it wasn't him he has a twin brother.

We have just been out to Crosby Beach near Liverpool to see Anthony Gormleys new artwork. It is well worth a vist the figures are all the same but scattered along the beach and out to see some of them are a long way out and it is not advised that you go out to them we got a fair distance though as it was low tide.We had a great walk and the kids enjoyed themselves. I want to go again when it is stormy to see the waves breaking over the figures and to see how deep some are submerged.

Magazine article (again)
xdonna
Now I know I have posted this already but I am very pleased about it. I know is about my X-Files collection but it is the first time I have been in print. I was on the television on a program called "Collectors Lot" but that was in 2000 which is ages ago.
So back to ModelMart I have been a subscriber for years, they tell me my bit is gong to be in the magazine and I sit waiting for it, very impatiently I must add. But it never arrived I finally email the magazine only to be told I am no longer on the mailing list. My subscription expired last month. I reply I am on a standing order it can't expire  but they don't accept standing orders anymore but I never got the letter informing me of that little detail. I have to resubscribe and then rush out to find what was the only copy in the whole of Leyland. It is not the worlds most popular magazine. Why is it that the one issue that I really really want is the one that is a week late!!!

Tod go to get it and comes back limping so badly he wont put foot to the ground. Now I feel bad enough then we have to get him home I wait in the park in the pouring rain while she goes to get the car. Her son comes back with her and has a look at it and says "its broken" I now feel worse than bad. I walk home. I am now waiting to see what the vet says. He is beening seen now. I feel sick.

SPOILERs for the second to last episode ....

I warned you...

I did so....

I loved this one. The rip off the the crap shows was great I loved the Ann droid. I think they should use that in a real episode.
I don't ever watch big brother/celebrity love island but it would make it more interesting if the last contesant got shot.
I am wetting myself over the cliff hanger ending so many bloodthirsty Daleks you wouldn't believe. Wonderful thousands of the little buggers. I loved it I am desparate to see next week but I don't want it to come because it is the last in the series.

I got a Christmas Tree....
xdonna
Yes finally got a Christmas tree. I will point out it was in a big pot but I have planted it in the front garden now. I now have something to hang all the spare baubles and tinsel and lights on next December. I hope it grows a bit this summer as it is only 3 foot high and I have a LOT of spare decorations. I love Christmas decorations and I like to buy new ones every year but I can not bear to throw any away so I have lots and lots. I like to find the old 1950's ones as well and reuse them. I would love to know what trees they have been on and where, how long have they been stuffed in an attic unloved until I got them. I have one special glass one, a cresent moon, It has been on a tree in my house since I was born(it was brought the same year) My Mum let me take it with me when I married it always get pride of place and lives for the rest of the year in a special box in the sideboard. I wont let it go in the attic with the rest of them. It I ever find it broken you will hear the screams.

I just been and seen Revenge of the Sith. It was a good film better than the last 2 but not as good as Empire strikes back.( No Han Solo/Harrison Ford) but I did like it.
It was strange because as we waited I realised when the first movie came out 1977/78?? I was 13 I went to see it with my best friend Isabella and we were so excited. I did not consider at the time in 27-ish years time I would still be excited and sitting with my kids watching more Star Wars in Lancashire miles from home and Isabella will be seeing it with her kids in Japan!

We had a nice day the kids went to a friends for the day and we went out to the Traford centre. Haven't been for nearly a year! Went to look at the shops I like and they have closed the Festival Village and all the nice little shops are gone. Other than that there is little else than very expensive high fashion clothes shops. Which is all well and good it you are sized 8 to 14 anything over that and you walk in and the assistant looks at you as if you have just crawled out of the swamp. I being some what over a size 14 gave up and finally found a Waterstones where size doesn't matter and got the books I wanted and home. Sat in the garden and went to sleep. Then the boys came home.

oh what a day
xdonna
Great fun yesterday first the gasman came and did our boiler checks (all ok)
Then I had to wait for the electricman. He came to screw the old meter board to the wall so another man can come on Monday to change the old meter for a new one!. He arrived took one look at our mains suppy cable and said "thats unsafe"  oh joy It is a shared cable and he had to go next door and tell them. We then were without electric for 3/4 of an hour while they did the work.(it was suposed to be a 10 munute job with no electric loss) I am glad he decided to do the work there and then and fix everything. So we now have a new cable and our board is on the wall. The downside is it screwed up our recording of Without a Trace my fairly dim friend said "if the Sky box isn't working use one of your kids videos" yesh

Defrosting
xdonna
My way too exciting life continues today with the defrosting of the freezer. I have had this frezzer 2 years now and this is the first time I have done it. Having just read the instruction book. It seems I should do this every 6 months!
It also says 3mm of ice is too much I have 3cm oh well back to work..

a good day
xdonna
Ha I had a good day today. First my X-Files Frank Black figure arrived I ordered him last November! I met the person who plays Frank at Memorabilia in November (Lance Hendrickson in case you were wondering) Then a different Postie and my 7 very happy now just have to get them all listed and cataloged  and photographed and onto my web page. Then they can be safely put away from the nasty fading sunshine.

It has been a quiet week nothing of any importance has happened. Yesterday we all had to go and get new passport photos which was a giggle. Then the boring bit of filling out all the forms. I have a cold which is turning into a cough and that makes my ribs and chest hurt and now I think I have something worse.
Went to a bootfair this morning and got 2 X-Files mugs I saw them but could not bear to leave them even though I thought I already had them but when I got home. I found one was a new one which made me happy.
Hubbie is out ringing a peal and I am putting off doing the ironing. Gosh my life is interesting.

Breakfast
xdonna
Yes I know its 11am and I am just having breakfast but it is what I do. I don't get lunch until 2pm so I have breakfast later. What I actually wanted to know am I the only one that likes cerial soggy? I put the milk in then have to wait for 15 minutes or so until its soft. Believe me Alpen takes that long. I hate it when the advert comes on and says "now even more crunchy" as that means I will have to wait longer for the milk to soak in!
I have always liked soggy and I am looking for someone to agree with me. Needless to say I am still looking.
Anyone of you like soggy cerial????

Weekend
xdonna
Not a bad weekend I did something for the very first time ever on Saturday! I went into a betting shop and placed a bet. That is a first in 41 years shame I lost the £20 as the silly moo came 5th.
If she had just come 4th I would at least got my money back. I supose the fact she made all the way round wasn't bad. Never mind try again on Derby Day.
Also had to buy my eldest son his first suit he is leaving school soon and is going to need it. AWWWW he looked really grown up just need a shirt and tie now.

Ok It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It was rather nice to see her and her 2 boys had lovely manners I wish my 2 were as good. I now feel I am a failed mother. They did not stay to long and were gone by 10am the next day. We promised it wouldnt be another 20 years.(yeah right!)

Dr Who
xdonna
Did anyone else watch it? It was heart stopping I just was so wishing it would be good. That it would live up to the early show but be a modern take on the whole thing. It statred well with the theme tune being right and just went on from there So brilliant. I love it. The whole thing was just great can't wait for next week.

I know I should not but I am so glad when the guests leave. They are old friends from Newcastle and using us as a nights stop after flying into Manchester from a fortnights holiday in Florida. They arrived at 9 am yesterday morning and we had them all day and boy was it a long one they showed us photos and spoke of the holiday. Now I have no desire to go to Florida and am not bothered but its was all "oh you should go" and "you have to see..." I DONT want to Then the endless talk of the rides but I wont go on a normal rollercoaster I don't like them so it was rather boring to hear the delights of some of the ones at Epcot. Then the jet lag set in and the afternoon and evening was liked having 4 zombies to stay. This morning all well rested I expected having been away from home for 15 days they wanted to get back. But no we will just stay until 11am ,then it was 12 they finally left at 1pm I have the house to myseff again.

Dog
xdonna
:'(

The stupid f**ing s**tface dog has just chewed up my 3 X-Files Russian novels. I don't know why, he as been around for 14 months and hasn't touched them. I have never seen them for sale before I managed to get them on ebay and I have not seen them since. I am so pissed at him right now. Touching my X-Files collection is a sin and I shall never forgive him this. I am off to kick his furry little butt some more.

Garden
xdonna
Spent most of today clearing up the garden. I have trimmed the grass around the stepping stones and 'planted' 6 more so now the path goes to the shed. The grass has been mown, first time this year, we have but bark chippings under the conifers and had a really good sweep up. It looks neat it wont stay that way but at least we tried.

Mothers Day
xdonna
Ok it hasn't been the best one so far as hubbie and kids didn't remember it was Mothers Day until late afternoon yesterday!. I did get some cards this morning but my present will be a little late! can't imagine. Apparently he ordered it from amazon and it just hasn't come on time. He then admitted it was yesterday when he placed the order so it is not a suprise it hasnt arrived. He did bring me tea and crumpets in bed this morning.

I like snow
xdonna
I like snow and here in Lancashire we don't have ANY.  I mean this is  'up north' and its dry and sunny. My Mum is in Kent and she has snow if fact she and Dad are stuck indoors as its so snowy. I guess life isn't fair.  I can't see the The Goodies live show  or Meatloaf in July. So I am off to drink vodka and sulk.
