A very nice holiday we had the weather was kind a few really hot days some cool and only one afternoon of rain. I finally got to Tintagel. I have always wanted to see the place but the last couple of times we have been to Cornwall time and traffic have consipred to thwart me. A stunning place but there is a lot of "up" stairs, cliffs ect You never seem to be going down. We went swimming in the sea everyday brought ourselves cheap masks and watched the crab and ali sorts of little fish swimming in the banks of seaweed along one side of the cove the reat was flat and sandy. The is no shop in Portmellon but a lovely Pub we brought pints of the local cider and sat on the sea wall of an eveing watching the tide come in. Also went to Eden we did warn the kids not to eat any apples but they didn't get the joke. Again a really nice place lots to see and the tropical dome does get very hot!. We were all interested saw things growing which we see in the shops everyday but not growing. Rice, satumas, lemons Aubergenes and tea plants and hemp! but the signs said it was a new variety which is good for natural rope but the narcotic properties had been bred out. Then there was the Owl Sanctuary that was the only time it rained but we had the tour lots of lovely owls. The flying display was indoors which meant they could only fly the Barn Owl and I got to hold it !! I put the big leather glove on and it landed on my hand. It was so light I could not feel the weight of it and so soft. We had a days boat trip out to Fowley a nice calm trip didn't see any thing of interest other than lots of sailing boats. Well that was our week away. D
