I am sure Bill says, "I can freak out on my drumkit". Which is of course quite true! He says it's the only instrument he plays really well. I think he is also excellent on the harmonica (look on YouTube for 'Documentary Film Maker Blues'), having played it for most of his life. He has contributed saxophone, kazoo and all kinds of bits to the soundtrack songs.

I'm still searching for the complete 'Play It Again' guitar programme (only found clips so far) but Bill's skill on that instrument is apparently good enough to muck about with friends.

Of course, Bill can also sing beautifully - check out 'Sunny Morning' - and in many styles. I adore  that legendary rock scream. There are a couple of YT vids of him singing at Wickham Festival in 2016 and his voice was still great then!

A more muted singing performance was given at the recording of the new Goodies audio episode on 17th March 2019. I was lucky enough to be there! So tempted to bootleg it but didn't want to get chucked out and it seemed disrespectful to the performers. I'm waiting for it to come out on Audible. New Oddie music!!

Does anyone know: in The Music Lovers, is it actuallly Bill singing Edelweiss in the bath? I looked in Pixley and it doesn't say it isn't him. If so, that's a lovely example, too.

Love him.

I don't have to take this kind of thing from you, you know! But I'm going to...

' "I can beat counts on my drumkit..." For some strange reason I can never sing that line without singing the short drum line after it - same with Graeme's banjo riff.

I KNEW IT!!!  Gosh, I'm so clever.  I'm going to make a cup of tea to celebrate!!!

Maybe I've just been hanging round drummers for far too long...
