I used to like seeing him appear in the show without his glasses, he always seemed more exotic, and a touch vunerable without them!! |
Oh, I know! And he looks so different without them. |

Hmmmm... My fav Grae glasses would have to be the Harry Potter style ones from series 9 - although Graeme in all his forms is pretty darn attractive Bill : I know when I'm licked cos it feels lovely ! |

I love Grae in all his glasses, but he did look particularly sexy in the dark ones he wore around 1975 - 76. (Not in the shows, but in real life). |

And there was a really cool one from the Tom Baker era, where a character was turned into a skeleton. His entrance in the cartoon was this skeleton leaning on a doorway saying "You must.... make me... as I was... before the.... CHANGE!"
To get this back OT - the skeleton wore a fab pair of black-framed glasses much like Grae from the Frankenfido era.
What are your fav Grae glasses? |

Yeah, those Who annuals, there's one Tom Baker one where Harry looks like John Voigt )probably spelt that wrong, do I care?) There's a great TV Comic annual from late 69/early 70 where the new Dr fights off a giant octopus with his magic flute and, as recall, the Brigadier looked Hugely butch. Ah, the 70's May I never leave them. |

And the Doctor David Graeme Garden Award for Understatement goes to: '

' I don't remember the Disaster Movie book all too well now, but it is very strange. |
Which is like saying the Pacific Ocean is a bit damp. It is the MOST peculiar book EVER WRITTEN. It's even stranger than those mid-70s Dr Who annuals (which are well worth tracking down secondhand if you're into weird cultural artefacts.) |

Dunno, I was too busy admiring Graeme's deeply lovely boots. Within the 'plot' of the book (The Making of the Goodies' Disaster Movie, where the pix came from), Grae was directing the film, so he's got this combo going on of his usual costume with a bit of the jodphurs-and-cardy look from Movies. I like it.
(The red thing is a wig made by the wig company that's funding the film, and the dog is played by John Wayne. Just thought you needed to know.)
Be thankful Bill's not in this shot - by that stage of proceedings I think he was running around topless with a shark's fin strapped to his back. |
