Yes it was back to work today. *sigh* Getting out of bed early and lasting the whole day were both a bit tricky, but other than that it was OK. I'm still doing the secondment that I really enjoy. It's great, but I have to admit I'm starting to dread the time that I have to go back to my usual job role.
Anyway I don't really have anything interesting to say so based on popular demand I have decided to post some more photos I'd better watch out or this will end up becoming a photo blog instead of a journal.
I haven't gotten Trent to resize any more NYE ones yet so I'll just post some older photos instead:
First is one of me and Billikins taken in March...
Next is me as a young-un with something resembling a tea-cozy on my head...
Next is a pic of me with Neil Innes (anyone who doesn't know of Neil - he worked with Monty Python and wrote a lot of music for them and appeared in some of their films. He was also in the "Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band" he also made "The Rutles" with Eric Idle and he created lots of kids shows and wrote music for them - like Puddle Lane and Raggy Dolls - he's cool!)...
This is a few years ago dressed up for a 70s and 80s party (Trent is 70s and I'm 80s - obviously) Why am I posting this? It's embarrassing. hahahaha
And lucky last is me juggling while sitting on Brighton Beach (in Melbourne not England)...
OMG, Neil Innes did Raggy Dolls? I have a new found respect for him! He's certainly looking his age though.
You were so cute as a little kiddy! There's a great Billy Connolly quote that goes "Never trust a man, who when left alone in a room with a tea cosee, doesn't try it on". So you must be very trustworthy then! And you look good in 80s get-up! hehehe
AC,where did you meet neil innes at?I'm being a sticky beak.I worked out who it was you reminded me of-but it's just in that one photo of you getting ready to go out-your hair, something around the mouth and the expression on your face remind me of -i won't be able to spell this-janeane garafalo-oh hell someone else can try and spell it-you know who i mean! .Great photos again.Love the juggling and that beanie thing.Ah,the 70's.Lucky thing-getting a photo with bill-yay!
Mazzanda - yeah Neil Innes wrote the music, lyrics and scripts for Raggy Dolls and did voices too. Check out... http://www.neilinnes.org/index.html
Daftbird - I saw Neil Innes about three years ago when he was out here doing a show for the comedy festival. It was a really fun show. He sang lots of his songs, did a couple of little jokes and skits, and also told some really interesting anecdotes about travelling with the Pythons and that sort of thing. After the show I got him to sign my copy of The Rutles DVD and had a photo with him.
As you can tell from my big round moon face, that photo was taken BEFORE I lost weight. The juggling photo shows me when I was a bit thinner. But as is evidenced by the double chin it the pic with Bill from this year - I have put a fair bit of the weight back on again. Anyway enough whinging about that - thanks for the compliment of saying I look like Janeane Garofalo (or however she spells it!) I love her! She's so cool!
I've just noticed that standing next to Bill made me look tall
Hey AC! Aww, your so lucky that you got to have a photo with Billikins! I'm so jealous! hehe. As you saw in my first journal entry, I JUST missed out on meeting Tim and Graeme.. (I would use the crying face but it apparently doesn't work in journals...) I sooo wanted to meet them! (Especially Tim, as I always say... ) And I like your other photos too!
Thanks Alex. I actually ran in to Bill by accident in a CD shop! We both happened to be browsing in the same shop before the Goodies show that evening! I didn't bother to post my pics with Tim and Graeme in here because I think everyones already seen them. Maybe you'll still get the chance to meet them one day.
