Tim does seem to have quite crazy hair, there were plenty of times in Edinburgh, usually after he removed the Ecky Thump hat, where his hair would be all over the place. I think everyone in the audience had the urge to rush the stage and hand him a comb. Bless.

I agree though, the Halifax Clue hair was the best. Poor, poor Tim that no one told him. Perhaps they thought it'd save his dignity, but everyone could see it anyway and no doubt felt desparate to sort it for him. It really was a "There's Something About Mary" homage if there ever was one.

a two and eight is Cockney Rhyming Slang meaning "a state". 

I know I'm not a Cockney and I don't live in London, but my ex-boyfriend was a Southerner and I've picked up most of that awful language.

Half eight is perfectly acceptable English - tell em to shurrup!!!!

(I love the English language.  I know exactly what you mean, but what in the name of all that's hairy is a 'two and eight'? Sounds bloody good, I'll use it.  I got the michael removed something chronic at work for saying 'half eight' instead of 'half past eight' - and this is from the sort of people who say 'four year ago' because they don't do plurals!)
