I wish I had choosen something like Timita's dress. My looked like something one of those dolls that your Nana had sitting on the spare toilet roll. It was layers of frilly pearl organza (spelling??) with a bit of a train which buttoned up into a bussell. Oh and my hair was BIG. Effie had nothing on me!! Well it was the early 90's and we were still recovering from the 80's fashion mistakes (big hair, big shoulder pads and lots of Bling!!) AS Derryn Hinch would say Shame! Shame! Shame! Bill : I know when I'm licked cos it feels lovely ! |

' What about the infamous spanking scene in Robot? That's enough to wrap anyone in a straightjacket.
Of course, Tim was always very pretty in drag. At least he pulled it off better than Bill or Grae (though that may have something to do with the face fuzz.) I especially liked Chubby Chumps, he was gorgeous! |
I think chubby chumps was my fav tim in drag! "IM BEAUTIFUL" |
Chubby Chumps's Miss Cricklewood is certainly very lovely but you can't go past Timita - Oh to look that lovely - Life is a real b!tch when a bloke looks better in a dress than most shielas.
Hey Kel isn't your wedding coming up soon Timita's lovely white sparkley gown would make an excellent wedding dress. I can hear it now - Guest: 'Oh Kel your dress is divine where did you get it Kel : 'Thankyou - its a Tim Brooke Taylor original' Bill : I know when I'm licked cos it feels lovely ! |

' I think Tim's said a feww times that he's never been bitter in his life, he did so on the '1948 Show' DVD interview anyway.
Tim as Thatcher is hilarious, love the Hitler moustache too. I wish he stayed as Thatcher than transform into Timita, which is perhaps the most frightening thing I've ever seen in my life! |
I'm glad someone agrees with me. It's a terrifying image.

'I have to say, though, he seems so bitter, doesn't he? He's not at all happy about the total lack of repeats, or that he didn't get equal credit for the writing. Poor darling! I just wanna give him a big hug. |
I don't know about 'bitter', exactly. I would have said 'sadly resigned' - he doesn't seem to have that anger. But either way, he definitely needs a hug. |
You're absolutely right. "Bitter" seems such a harsh word for him, I suppose he's more..."midly annoyed" or "disappointed" or something. The hug offer still stands, though!!
The Goodies are more than worthy of repeats! Wasn't it Bill that said, "You don't get the job of BBC controller unless you sign this thing that says 'Over my dead body will I ever repeat The Goodies.'" I think the BBC needs to go digging in their storerooms or something and repeat everything that hasn't been played in the last ten years (within reason, of course, some programmes don't deserve a first screening.)
Anyway, that's my little whine for today. ---------- "I cannot talk to a man who bears an undeserved animosity towards ferrets." -- Graham Chapman |

' I never cease to admire Tim's graciousness* when asked about Python (and whether he should have been in it.)
*I know the correct noun is 'grace', but that makes it sound like I admire his dancing. Not that I *don't* like Tim's dance moves.... |
I think grace is exactly the right word. He's so humble about the Python issue and it's admirable that he can answer the same questions about it over and over again with such honesty and good humour.

'I heard this in a lovely interview once: Bill: Graeme and I did the bulk of the writing - Tim: Yeah, the unfunny bits. Bill: - and therefore we made bloody sure that he did the really painful things. Tim: Usually, I might add, in a dress. Bill: Yes, in a dress...preferably.
I have to say, though, he seems so bitter, doesn't he? He's not at all happy about the total lack of repeats, or that he didn't get equal credit for the writing. Poor darling! I just wanna give him a big hug. |
I think that the dialogue is a classic example of their humour "Paying out on everyone and each other". I have to agree with PunHeaven though '

He just seems to be truely disappointed at the lack of repeats as you could understand. Being part of such a pioneering comedy show, that because of someones pettiness (BBC Comey Directors), part of Bristish television history has almost been forgotten in the country of it's birth. Someone should be beheaded - twice!!
Oh and I am quite prepared to volunteer for the Tim *hugs* cos that is the generous kind of person that I am Bill : I know when I'm licked cos it feels lovely ! |
