It's the same in Punky Business after Tim's got the spaghetti and sauce all over him, in 'Comedy Connections' Jane Asher says that took several takes due to corpsing and the final edit has the sauce looking like it's been there for quite a long time. Have a look at that scene and see if you can tell why Tim is ducking when Graeme picks up the black pudding and takes a bite out of it.  I reckon Tim thought he was about to cop a wack on the head

Watch Graeme and Tim in "Kung Fu Kapers", after Graeme has climbed out of the black pudding mix and they've moved to the right side of the pudding machine.  They're struggling to keep from laughing. I'm sure the sight of Graeme dripping with goo was making it particularly hard for Tim to keep a straight face. 

If they had to reshoot the scene I've wondered if that would have involved cleaning Graeme up and having him fall into the pudding mixture again.

Haha ...Tim was probably pleased that for once it wasn't him covered in muck !  ...wonder if he wrote that scene 

Ture, Lisa - I wonder how many copies of the same costume they had?  When you think about the stuff they went through - particularly in the filmed sequences - there must have been a truck somewhere full of brown cords, navy suits and purple flares.

(Why do I find the concept of a truck full of purple flares so exciting?)
