' You're all right - born in Rochdale, moved to Birmingham as a kid, with an accent that wavers between the two.

(althrough why this is here and not on the Bill thread escapes me)

Accents do that.  My dad's accent gets stronger the more he drinks.  By the time he's well sloshed, he's forgotten how to speak English altogether.

Ahem.  Speaking of the rock n roll episode: socks and sandals are a pom thing.  Discuss.

I think socks and sandals are a Man Of A Certain Age pom thing.

My dad, for example, were he ever to wear sandals, would wear socks with them, because he can't bear to wear any kind of footwear without socks.

Then again he'd insist on shining the sandals as well.  Good lad.

Sorry to all Graeme/Bill fans for writing about Bill on the Graeme thread, but there you go.

I think I'd rather say I was from Birmingham than Rochdale - Rochdale really is a dump.  No apologies to anyone from Rochdale - mainly because you know you agree with me!!!!

To keep this on topic - is it me or is the whole conversation between Graeme and Tim in Scoutrageous about the whittling stick really really rude??!?!

He's definitely from Rochdale. He grew up in Birmingham though. The T's in Kung Foo Kapers are meant as a joke... It's like Australians speaking like Steve Irwin.

Well according to imdb.com he's from Rochdale.

But anyone who's ever lived in Lancashire could tell you that his over-pronouncement of his t's (e.g. t'Parliament, for to seek out t'true enlightenment etc) is a bit of a giveaway to him not being from Rochdale.

Although I dunno.  Some W.E Oddle boffin like Jodie or Edna ought to know, though.

That's why they're in my Parliamentary Cabinet - they know EVERYTHING!!!

(NB:  I am now off to learn the routine to Shiny Shoes.  I WILL do it!!!!!!)

Isn't Bill's accent Lancastrian? It doesn't sound Brummie to me anyway. I'm from Yorkshire, which borders with Lancashire, so I hope I'm right!

As for ISIHAC recordings, the only info is that they're recording in the North of England (fingers crossed near me), the Midlands and the West Country. No details yet on the specific venues and dates, my guess is that it'll be disclosed soon, once the final recording of Hamish & Dougal is under their belts. I hope so anyway, the waiting is killing me!

Anyway, I should probably mention Graeme while I'm here. Just watched "Hype Pressure" and loved the moment when Graeme starts jumping about and slashing the sofa in response to the Rock 'n' Roll on TV, "Oh the crazy rhythm, nobody understands me!" Then when Bill turns the TV off Graeme returns to normal, "I really shouldn't be doing this should I?"

Jess.

Yeah I've met 'em, lovely men.  Micky has got THE most amazing eyes, you don't even realise from the TV show, but when he's talking to you, he looks at you and just captivates you in his gaze so you feel all unnecessary - and I don't even fancy Micky!!!!!!!

Davy has got a VERY strong grip for a short person (I ended up having bruises on my hip from where he was holding me when we had our photo taken!!!) and is as flirty as you'd imagine him to be, but he gets all embarrassed if you start flirting back which is really sweet!!!!

I know this'll probably make you even more jealous but I actually got given a backstage pass the night before I went to the gig - AND my seats ended up being for rows from the stage!!!!!!!  I was in heaven for about four hours solid... *sigh*

Don't think they've announced the ISIHAC dates yet - if they do I think all us lot on the forums who are definitely going ought to at least try and meet up at a pub before/after one of the shows just so's we can put names to faces and vent our hysteria on people we know will understand!!!!!!

I know me, Peej (Im_a_Teapot) and Kirstyn (urban_spacegirl) are all car-sharing for a Goodie-hunting-adventure.  Sadly I'll be chauffeur so I can't blame being drunk on any accosting I may or may not end up doing with Dr G...!

If anyone's with me on this grand plan, let us know!!!!!!

You've met Micky & Davy?  You lucky thing you!!  I'm as green as my writing!!

When I met Graeme & Tim I was shy & a little giggly but I managed to point out my Goodies badge on my bag to Grae who seemed impressed & asked where I'd got it - I don't remember much else as I was swooning so much - they probably thought I was on drugs but I was just high on their prescence!!  Graeme was just perfect & lovely, Tim was adorable & flirty (on both occasions I've met him he's flirted with me - bliss  )
I must try my best to get to one of the ISIHAC recordings for the next series - I don't think they've announced exactly where they'll be yet have they?

'Bill too, I just love the accent. I guess up there in the UK, Birmingham sounds like nails on a chalkboard to some people, but for me it's a good relief from all of these bloody Aussie accents. (Though I would happily speak in Aussie for Tim!)

I'm off now to hear some more ISIHAC...

Hey don't be mean to Brummies - I am one myself, don't you know!

Sorry. I did say "some people," didn't I? Anyway you guys are way cool. But poor Bill got so ripped on for his accent in ISIRTA.

Anyway, enough about Bill. Back to Grae.

Awww, bless you!!!

I remember when I met Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones after the Monkees gig in Manchester I was chatting to both of them for ages, and I was somehow all cool, calm and collected and chatting away like I'd known them for YEARS.

My then best mate was staring at me like I'd been kidnapped by rock'n'roll loving aliens & been replaced by a non-hysterical person and was just about to ask what they'd done with the real me, when they left and I burst into hysterical squeals, incoherant ramblings and started shaking like mad!!!!!!!!

I can only hold it together for so long!!!

Aww, I really know how you feel, Nezangel - although I must admit I'm highly jealous you've already met Dr G.  As my Minister of Michael Nesmith Lustings, could you possibly give me some tips on how to act when the momentous meeting finally occurs?!
