 Requesting Goodies Repeats

Suggestions can be found in our FAQ.

Goodies only playing Brighton on Oct 5th
more from same (The Goodies)
The GoodiesI've just learned that The Goodies will only be doing one date at the Paramount Comedy Festival in Brighton - Thursday, October 5th.  There will no longer be a performance on Wednesday, October 4th.

If you purchased tickets for October 4th I suggest you contact the Brighton Dome Box Office (or whoever you bought your tickets from) to see if you can exchange them for the October 5th show or to get a refund.  Obviously I'd encourage trying to rebook for Oct 5th because it's a really great show.
According to http://www.brightondome.org/how_to_book.asp you can contact the Brighton Dome Box Office at 01273 709709 or email their online support at tickets@brighton-dome.org.uk

If you were planning to attend the October 5th show but haven't yet bought your tickets I urge you to do so as soon as possible - I anticipate a rush on those tickets due to people rebooking from the cancelled show.  Tickets for Oct 5th can be purchased from http://www.brightondome.org/events/eventdetails.asp?id=2100 or by calling the Brighton Dome Box Office at 01273 709709

another way to win tickets for Brighton
more from same (The Goodies)
The GoodiesOne of the Paramount Comedy Festival's media partners, radio station Southern FM, is giving away festival tickets.  Here is the information from their website (at http://www.southernfm.com/article.asp?id=276341):

Paramount Comedy Festival

Have a chuckle - it's the 5th Paramount Comedy Festival! From 4th-21st October the Brighton Dome will be THE venue to witness the finest in UK comedy. Heavy hitters such as Ross Noble, Jimmy Carr, Russell Brand, Rich Hall, Paul Merton, Boothby Graffoe, Sarah Kendall and Jeff Green will all be on hand to tickle your fancy!

There's musical amusement from Four Poofs & A Piano, John Hegley and The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain. Plus, great shows from The Goodies and Grumpy Old Women (featuring Rhona Cameron and Jenny Eclair) and political comedy from Mark Thomas will be sure to raise laughs.

You can win tickets to festival events on Southern FM! All you need to do is listen out on Chris Copsey's show (weekdays 1-4pm) for classic comedy clips, ring in and correctly identify them.

Alternatively, you can buy tickets by contacting the Festival Box Office: 01273 709709

Or see the Paramount Comedy Festival website for more details: www.paramountcomedyfestival.com

more from same (The Goodies)
The GoodiesI've gotten information about a couple of interviews to promote the Goodies live shows in Brighton next week (http://www.brightondome.org/events/eventdetails.asp?id=2100).

Graeme will be appearing on Chris Evan's BBC Radio 2 show tomorrow (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/evans/).  The show airs from 5-7pm London time and can be heard online.  It should also be available from Listen Again afterwards.

Graeme is also scheduled to do interviews for the Brighton Argus newspaper and One Word Radio.  I don't know when those will appear yet but will pass along any further news as it arrives.  Let us know if you spot the interview first!

Goodies Episode Summaries on website
more from same (The Goodies)
The GoodiesI've started the process of posting my revised Goodies Episode Summaries up the website in the Articles section.

It will be a lengthy process and at this stage I've only posted up the Introduction/Contents and the summaries for Series One and Two, however I'll gradually add the remaining series over the next week or two.

There will also eventually be galleries of images from each Goodies episode to complement the written summaries, however these won't be up on the website for a little while yet.  Stay tuned for further details.  Radio Goodies.  Boom!

The GoodiesThanks to minimatt for posting the news in the forums that UKTV (Austar/Foxtel) will be playing episodes of The Goodies Sundays from 12pm-2.30pm starting 29th September.

I wrote to UKTV and received a confirmation that they will be starting with Series 1 episode 1.

Small problem
more from same (Website)
WebsiteSorry for the inconvenience, but me being the ignorant cretin (read clutz) that I am, deleted an entire thread from the forum.  In particular, I deleted the "word association game" thread while trying to delete a double post (made by me).

I've managed to restore from a very recent backup (Actually I don't think I lost any posts at all) however, it did mean that the site was offline for about 15 minutes while I restored the database from backup.

Once again, sorry for the inconvenience, and hopefully nothing else got broken in the meantime.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled lunacy.

BBC4 Programmes coming up
more from same (British Comedy)
British ComedyThanks to Helen Randle for posting this information on the goodies-l mailing list:

"A couple of programmes I've spotted that are coming up soon -

*Godlessness and Dirt: 60 Years of the Edinburgh Festival* A look at the long-standing rivalry between the 'official' Edinburgh Festival and its unruly sibling, the Fringe. With rare footage and contributions from festival veterans.
BBC Four, Sun 17 Sep, 21:00-22:00
One of the contributors is Tim.

*Never Mind the Full Stops*
Julian Fellowes is joined by Nina Wadia, John Sergeant, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Rod Liddle to discuss, dissect and delight in the English language.
BBC Four, Wed 20 Sep, 23:20-23:50

As this seems to be a repeat of the first series presumably the episode with Graeme should be sometime soon."

more info about the Goodies Brighton dates
more from same (The Goodies)
The GoodiesAs mentioned in the previous news item, the Paramount Brighton Comedy Festival's website has a "Win Tickets" link.  At the moment they aren't offering any Goodies tickets.  However, I've learned from the festival organizers that there will be a Goodies ticket giveaway in the future.  Watch for details from the festival website (http://www.brightoncomedyfestival.com/) as well as their media partners - radio stations Juice FM & Southern FM and newspaper The Argus. I believe these are the correct URLs for their websites:

    Juice FM: http://www.juicebrighton.com/

    Southern FM: http://www.southernfm.com/

    The Argus: http://www.theargus.co.uk/

Of course, none of this should stop you from buying tickets to ensure you'll be able to see the shows (on Oct 4th & 5th at the Brighton Dome).

I'll pass along any further news I get about giveaways or interviews for Brighton.
