| Website upgrade problems |
more from same (Website) |
Due to some really annoying problems upgrading the database to the new website, I've had to re-set the system back to the original database and site.
I'll try again during the week if I get time, if not, then it will be next weekend.

Just a little advance notice that the goodiesruleok.com website will be down for a couple of hours over the weekend (Adelaide time). I can't be specific about when it will happen, but I'll try and put a couple of hours notice on the site first.

| updates about "One" and "QI" |
more from same (The Goodies) |
The new BBC Radio 4 show "One" will be a series, not a single episode. The series will air Thursdays starting, 16 Nov, at 23:00; it can be heard online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4. Listen for contributions from Graeme, Bill, and others. If you enjoy the show you may wish to call the BBC Duty Log to let them know (the number is 08700 100222). I'm told the BBC does pay attention to this feedback.
Also, I've found a listing for Graeme's appearance on "QI" for Friday, 24 Nov at 22:30 on BBC 4. I'll try to verify whether the BBC 2 broadcast will be on the same day. Check your local listings.
UPCOMING GOODIES-RELATED SHOWS:
* Mondays starting 13 Nov - "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue" starts a new series on BBC Radio 4 at 18:30. Each episode will be repeated around noon the following Sunday. The show can be heard online live and then via Listen Again for a week after the initial broadcast at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4
(UPDATED) * Thursdays starting 16 Nov - "One" on BBC Radio 4 at 11:00pm. It will feature a series of monologues, including contributions from Graeme, Bill, and others. Each show can be heard online live and then via Listen Again for a week after the initial broadcast at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4
(UPDATED) * Fri, 24 Nov - "QI" with Graeme. BBC 4 at 22:30. (we're checking whether this will also be on BBC2 at 22:00 that day)
* Sundays - repeats of "The Goodies" first 2 series on UKTV (Austar/Foxtel). For the next few weeks they will be shown in 5 episode blocks from noon to 2:30pm
* Sundays - ABC Radio National is broadcasting "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" (with Tim and Graeme) on Sunday mornings at 5.30am.

| ISIRTA Volume 5 - at last! |
more from same (British Comedy) |
According to Amazon.co.uk, after a 10 year delay a new collection of "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again" episodes is being released by BBC Audiobooks.
"I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again Volume 5" is scheduled for a 5 Feb 2007 release in the UK. There's no information yet about which episodes it will contain. Here's the current synopsis from Amazon: "This is, due to popular demand, and after a long break, a fifth volume of episodes from the irreverent radio comedy series which ran between 1964 and 1973. Starring John Cleese, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden, David Hatch, Jo Kendall and Bill Oddie, "ISIRTA" is a mix of quickfire sketches, bad puns, humorous songs, and TV and cinema parodies. It quickly developed a cult following, and was the forerunner of "The Goodies and I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue".
In addition, the previously released volumes 1-4 are slated to be released as a multi-CD set on the same day. While Amazon currently lists the title as "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again: v. 1-4" the description claims volume 5 will be included in this set as well. We'll have to watch for updated information as the release date gets closer.
A breakdown of the episodes included in ISIRTA volumes 1-4 can be found at http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7yes3/illustratedguides/radio_shows.html

| ISIHAC news (+ reminder that the new series starts Monday) |
more from same (British Comedy) |
Reminder: The new series of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue starts this coming Monday, 13 November on BBC Radio 4 at 18:30. Jeremy Hardy joins the regulars in a show recorded at the Southport Theatre. The show can be heard online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4
New information:
* The guests for the upcoming ISIHAC recordings in this series will be Rob Brydon at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London on 12 Nov and Tony Hawks at the Sunderland Empire, Sunderland on 26 Nov.
* A new CD entitled I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue": In Search of Mornington Crescent is scheduled for release in the UK on 5 March 2007.
Here's a description from Amazon.co.uk's website: "Mornington Crescent is a game whose rules and history are shrouded in myth and mystery. Now, in this extended version of a spoof documentary first aired on BBC Radio 4, the team from "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" research shine a light in the dark. As if that wasn't enough, Humphrey Lyttelton, Graeme Garden, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Barry Cryer also provide readings from two learned books on the subject: "The Little Book of Mornington Crescent" and "Stovold's Mornington Crescent Almanac". From Roman times to Chaucer and beyond, "Mornington Crescent" has become a legend in its own tube stop. Now, at last, its true history can be told."

| Lost "Engelbert" footage at the NFT & in "TV Zone" article |
more from same (The Goodies) |
The segments the Goodies produced for "Engelbert with the Young Generation" in 1972, long thought lost, have been found in an archive in Germany. All the footage exists (although some of the audio has been dubbed into German!)
"TV Zone" Issue 209, which was published this week, contains a five page, illustrated article about the footage written by Andrew Pixley. The magazine can be found in shops or ordered from the publisher, Visual Imagination (http://www.visimag.com/tvzone/)
One of the rarer Engelbert segments, "The Bodyguards", will be part of the BFI National Film Theatre's "Missing Believed Wiped" event on 2 December. When booking details are generally available they will appear at http://www.bfi.org.uk/incinemas/nft/day/20061202
Use the "click here for more link" below to get a preview of an article about the Engelbert footage that will appear in this month's Clarion & Globe newsletter.
