Earlier this year I met the man who owns the Spitfire that is in the SA Aviation Museum. He discussed with me how he wanted to redo the nose art...and I volunteeered to do it! I was so excited, but since then haven't heard from him. My dear boyfriend is on the museum's committee and was going to a meeting today. I asked him if that man might be there and, if so, could he speak to him about it. He not only spoke to him for me, but put him onto the telephone and I had a chat to him. He's going to meet with me in about a week to discuss it and see some of my art work. I'm so chuffed! Maybe I'll be able to get it done ready for the museum's opening in its new location. What an honour...my paintings on a real Spitfire!
That would be such a cool and high profile way to exhibit your talents not to mention a real highlight on your resume. I think if I am not careful I might turn Goodie green with envy, but I think that I will just settle for Goodie red with boastful pride. Well done to my favourite artiste and aviatrix, Janice.
Thank you D-Day... There's an aviation art exhibition on in Melbourne at the moment. I think it has already started. I believe it's in the Airport Hilton near the Tullamarine. It's the work of another female aviation artist...a different style to mine, but similar in the realism vein. She's called Nikyla Smith. http://www.nikylasmith.com/ You might enjoy looking at her work. There's also a guy who does some great work: http://www.leadenham.com/ You might enjoy having a look at his, too. I'd better be careful...I might lose a major fan!!
