SUCCESS My long search for a new place to live is finally over as I have been approved for a rental house. It is not perfect by any means but it fitted most of my search criteria in terms of location and facilities, and is at a price I can afford. Stangely I inspected the house @ a month ago with my brother  and in that time the price has dropped by $ 10 p/w, other houses with fewer facilities have come and gone and yet the house was still there. So just maybe the house was meant for me and my two dogs Alice and Sally.
The next task after moving in is to find some suitable house mates and I am certainly wiser after living in my current share house. Clearly defined and enforced rules are the way to go and people who cross the boundaries cop it hard. Dont get me wrong there will be a fair degree of latitude between one boundary and another  to allow for people being people but like a naughty dog they will be brought to heel when necessary. I have been through to much rough stuff in the last year to tollerate knuckleheads in any part of my life. D-Day

I once moved into a place with a girl I hardly knew. It worked well, fortunately, but she decided to move after about 5 months and I was left with the whole rent for about the next 7 months, (I didn't look for a "roomie"), then I moved into my current unit...on my own. I have a low rent and am renting off a friend, with the plan to buy the place off him. I hope it works out well for you...I think you've had enough for the time being!

Thanks Janice it has only taken since 12 March when I first started searching on the web for a house to rent. What an effort. I needed 3 bedrooms preferably with ducted heating a decent modern kitchen and an OK inside bathroom , a single garage as minimum for my tools/materials, room for a couple of garden sheds also for tools, and room for my two dogs Alice [Golden Retriever X Cocker Spaniel] and Sally [Long Hair Chihuahua], plus a driveway to park my van on as I dont like to park on the road. Well how would you feel if your means to earn your livelyhood was sitting in your car all the time. Would you be nervous?

Hmmm...it was a difficult task, I'm sure, just to find a place that would allow your two K9 friends!

Yes although it wasnt just the two K9s that were the problem as I stated in my "Sally has a Good Day" entry, some of the houses had the original facilities in the bathroom and laundry so we are talking 50 plus years old. It is one thing to be buying a house that has such facilities as you can renovate when time and $ allow but when you are renting you dont have that luxury [?] or capability to change things. It is something of a sore point with me as I reckon a Landlord would have less turnover and or down time between tennants if the property had acceptable facilities. People would also pay a little bit more for a better property. Usual story though "You can lead a horse to water, but you can make him think or drink". D-Day

Thanks Janice I was wondering the other day when I would crack the ton or in these metricated days should that be tonne?  So glad the centuary visit went to a friend of mine. Not bad for a diary just under two months old, particularly with several weeks of irregular activities and visits. D-Day
