It's new years day 2007. Sometime in the late afternoon, by the looks of it, around 5pm. I've only just gotten out of bed after the previous night's festivities. Definitely time for coffee.
Actually, I've been awake since about 10am but I didn't want to get out of bed becasue I'm in some pain from what appears to be an infection on my foot and it's less painful to keep the foot raised. I did take some painkillers earlier but they don't seem to be working very well.
Other than that slight problem, I had a reasonably good new-years eve. Went to a friend's housewarming/new years party and watched my other half get drunk along with several other guests, always an amusing sight.
New years resolutions: I don't really have any except for some jobs I need to get done before I go back to work officially next week after the first vacation time I've had since 2000.
Main project is to get my new server up and running before the end of the week. It needs to be ready to go by the end of next week, but it makes so much noise that I can't have it running in my office or it puts everyone else off. The fans sound like a jet aircraft taking off at short range.
I also have another couple of jobs to finish up before the end of the week, because they have been hanging over my head for several months, and I need to get back some of the valuable space they take up in my flat.
