Yes, you have to be careful around here - we'll slip into a Monty Python routine with little provocation.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on this thread.  Thank you good6067 and kcjones for answering my DVD and downloading questions.

Thanks to You Tube, Veoh, and a few very kind and patient forum members, I have now been able to view all but 3 episodes.  So now the question is, does anyone know where I can go to watch Frankenfido, Superstar and/or Cunning Stunts, the only remaining episodes that I have never seen?

Tregina :

' I had tried to convert an .flv video file I had saved from You Tube (using KeepVid), but it didn't want to work.

However, the project has now met with success.  Having managed to download "Almost Live" and "Snooze" from Veoh, I found that Nero could transcode and burn the files to DVD.  Since I am a bit more comfortable with Nero than AVS, I gave it a go and now have a nice DVD that plays on our regular player.

Thanks for all of the links and suggestions and offers of help.  I'm off to start building up the collection now.

yes, nero is just like avs, it's great, hppy episode collecting

Mac users have a couple of converting options, too.

If you're willing to pay for software, VisualHub keeps things in sync no matter if you're converting flvs to avi, mpg or dvd. You can also load a couple of different cuts and convert and join them into one big file all at once by simply checking a box---and that's very helpful if you want to join segments found on youtube or veoh. Quicktimepro handles mpg conversions without issue, and will also rejoin, but it's a multi-step procedure.

I've tried a couple of the freebie converters too, and can report that isquint and mpeg streamclip convert well.
My fave? Visualhub. Worth the small price.

'  Episodes can also often can be found on torrent sites.  Not that I would ever do anything as naughty as downloading torrents

but anyone who is that naughty may want to check out a site that begins with iso and ends with .com. and has a hunt in the middle.
Someone is in the process of sharing epsiodes that are fantastic looking----nothing like the copies of copies of copies of copies of nasty old vhs recordings that most of us are used to.
The person warns he/she has a very slow connection, so be patient.
(it looks like this person may also  have posted some episodes  available on the dvd sets---I really shouldn't have to add "ignore those" but I still will....)

i went to the website you suggested KCjones and i didn't think it was that good, well compared to the website i use, all i could find was series 7 which i already have exept for one episode, the commonwealth gams episode, which i already have, and series 9 which will be coming out on dvd in 9 days to be persice

Hi there,
I'm not sure you're looking at the right things---this person has so far only uploaded four or five single episodes, all from series 2. The others you see are the same old crappy dupes that are all over the place.
I'll say again that i'm pleased with the new ones. But I am only talking about the new series 2 episodes that were shared within the last week or so. These look to be first generation copies.

Now, I haven't checked out what's on the site you use but will head over there. In the past, I've found that stuff there and on youtube has been converted in ways that don't reconvert well once you've downloaded. But then I do prefer to watch stuff on tv, rather than my computer---and file size and pixels make a difference.
But i'm eager to see what's there...i may just head over now!
