In the '70s Kerry Packers's "cricket circus" was making headlines.  He wanted to play in South Africa in the "apartheid days".

Did anybody watch the show on the ABC this week about the history of cricket in Australia?  I learned that Kerry Packer had gone about buying whole teams of cricketers... made me think of Graeme's "Kerry Thwacker" and the packing cases of atheletes.

At the risk of proving I obviously have far too much spare time on my hands, I volunteer to compile a list of profiles like Patsy suggested.  Might be worth sticking one per issue in the Clarion and Globe and/or putting them somewhere here on the site? I'm willing to reseach, write copy and sort out copyright on pix if anyone's still interested.  what I don't have is a lot of episodes on tape (only the DVD and the two ABC videos) so someone'll have to chuck me a list of who/what you'd like covered.

There's also Donny Osmond - well, his teeth, anyway.

Further research into Nicholas Parsons lead me to "The Goodies Book of Criminal Records".  There,s a picture of him in the middle of Graeme,s "Are you a loony?" test.  Eek!!

OK Twinkle (or should that be Frankenfido!) Here's a bit of info about Nicholas Parsons.

He,s a British actor, who, in the 70,s presented quite a few game shows eg. "Just a Minute", "Sale of the Century".  He also played "straight man" for the likes of Benny Hill.  He,s tall and handsome,  but his persona was smarmy, to say the least!

Strangely enough, in the 1980,s he appeared in a "Doctor Who" story "The Curse of Fenric".  He played a vicar who lost his faith, and was killed by vampires.

He always took his teasing by the Goodies with very good grace.

Yes! As well as Tony Blackburn, you could add Nicholas Parsons (all of him, not just 'bits' of him (as in the Frankenfido episode). They give him a tough time occasionally and I've no idea who he is.

Cheers

Twinkle (aka Frankenfido aka Andrew)
