Hi Zaphod,

Thanks for your test message and it looks like I've successfully replied to it.

I've tried sending another new message which still hasn't worked so here are my exact keystrokes:

1. Click on the name of someone in "most recent logins" to the right of the screen.

2. Scroll down to "Send a message to another user" and complete message details.

3. Click "send message"

4. the screen refreshes,  no error messages, but also no sent message confirmation.

Is that a clue?

Hi Zaphod,

You're quite right - I have no messages in my sent items.

I just tried to send you another one and clicked send message and there were no error messages however still nothing in Sent Items.

What could I be doing wrong?

If the messages don't show up in the sent items folder, then they weren't sent.  there may have been an error when you sent them which you might have missed.

Try sending another one.

I have also had trouble with this. Two of the messages I've sent have been to Zaphod! I have not had a reply for either and thought I'd done something wrong, or that there was something wrong with the program. They also do not show in my "sent" items.

It's quite possible, although unlikely.  More possible is that the peoiple you sent messages to didn't realise that they had a message.  Sometime's it's hard to notice the message on the sidebox.

Update:
I've just looked through the database and there are 4 unread messages from you to other people.  I won't be more specific, but these people haven't read the message so how could they reply?

You might want to check when these people were last logged in via their user profiles

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve sent messages to a few different people via the User Messages section of this site and I haven’t had any replies.

(I’m a bit embarrassed to write this because maybe just nobody’s replying to my messages!)

Is it possible that the messages aren’t getting through?
