I always considered those glasses from the Change of Life as John Lennon style - ultra cool - I have a pair of sunglasses that look exactly like that I bet Harry just copied John who obviously copied Graeme Bill : I know when I'm licked cos it feels lovely !

He wore the white coat quite often...usually when he was up to something he shouldn't be (like cutting people or animals up...or preserving the kenneths)

I think the glasses were originally a "prop", a shorthand way of saying "Graeme's a loony scientist!" The Goodies ARE like cartoon characters after all.

The glasses were and are his eternal trademark! Besides, it's hard to be taken seriously enough to take over the world without a decent pair of glasses to stare over and intimidate ppl with!
