Graeme in article in Doctor Who Magazine #401
more from same (Bill's Nature Shows)
Bill's Nature ShowsThe new issue of Doctor Who Magazine (Issue 401, which went on sale in the UK today) includes an article about the new series of Doctor Who radio adventures.  The press release says the article includes an interview with the cast, including
Paul McGann, Sheridan Smith, Graeme Garden, Art Malik, Clare Buckfield and James Fleet.

Thanks for Sosia for pointing out that the first story in the series (the second series of Eighth Doctor audio adventures) starts this Sunday on BBC Radio 7.  Graeme is in the second show in the series (Max Warp) while Tim appears in the sixth story (The Zygon Who Fell To Earth).  Each story probably will be broken into multiple episodes; we'll have to watch for the start date of Tim's & Graeme's appearances.

Through rarely-heard archive material and interviews with writers, performers and comedians, he investigates the impact that radio comedy has had upon the nation. Including contributions from Paul Merton, Barry Cryer, Ray Galton and Alan Simpson and Sanjeev Bhaskar."

(NEW) * Tues, 21 Oct - "The Wright Stuff" on Five at 09:00-10:30.  Bill is scheduled to be a guest on this day.  (thanks to wackywales for posting this info in the club's forums)

(NEW) * Thurs & Fri, 23-24 Oct - "The Truth About Killer Dinosaurs", presented by Bill, is repeated on UKTV Documentary each day at 9:00.  I suspect part 1 is airing Thursday and part 2 on Friday, but you should check your local listings to confirm this.

Bill's "Comedy Controller" being repeated on BBC 7 tomorrow
more from same (British Comedy)
British ComedyBill's appearance in BBC 7's "Comedy Controller" is scheduled to be repeated tomorrow (Sat, Oct 11th).  Below is a listing for the show.

Please note that BBC 7 has changed its name to BBC Radio 7 (I won't guarantee how long it'll take me to remember to say "Radio 7" instead of "BBC 7".    The show can be heard online from http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio7/ during broadcast; it will be available from Listen Again (via the BBC iplayer) for a week after broadcast.

Comedy Controller: Bill Oddie

There's a difference to this week's selection programme as Bill Oddie delivers his thesis on The Development of Radio Comedy in the 20th Century. This hugely entertaining lecture from Oddie the Ornothologist, incorporates: 'Up The Pole' (1st broadcast 01/11/1948), 'ITMA' (06/01/1949), 'Archie's The Boy' (11/11/1954), 'Beyond Our Ken' (27/05/1960), 'On The Hour' (14/05/1992) and 'On The Town with the League of Gentlemen' (27/11/1997).
