The Chaser switches channels to Seven just to tell a few fibs
By Holly Byrnes From: The Daily Telegraph February 06, 2012 12:49AM
CALL it a ceasefire or an elaborate plan to bring down Channel 7 from within - a trio from The Chaser will begin filming a new comedy series this week for the network which once took them to court. Craig Reucassel, Julian Morrow and Andrew Hansen have teamed up with The Goodies' Graeme Garden to bring his UK radio program The Unbelievable Truth to the small screen for Seven.
The comedy panel show, which films the first episode of 10 in Sydney tomorrow, challenges comedians and actors to tell a fabricated story but bluff the panel by including one bizarre truth.
The panel, which will include Morrow, Hansen, Garden and invited guests, must buzz in when they believe they can pick fact from fiction.
Reucassel, who will play host, said the partnership with their comic hero was "a great one we couldn't refuse".
"Over the years we knocked back commercial TV many times and the reason we are doing this is this is a show we want to do and they were keen on," he said. Brad Lyons, Seven's head of production said: "We were very excited when the guys brought it to Seven."
The Chaser's move on to commercial TV does not spell the end of their long-term relationship on the ABC.
Chas Licciardello and Chris Taylor are not involved in the Channel 7 series, with Licciardello to commentate for ABC24 on the upcoming US election.

The full article, pasted below, appears online at http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/tv/2012/02/01/pointless-lands-primetime-saturday-bbc-slot-115875-23729732/
Pointless lands primetime Saturday BBC slot
By Nicola Methven 1/02/2012
Hit BBC daytime show Pointless has landed a primetime slot after pulling in more than 5million viewers over Christmas. The new series will include 18 celebrity specials, with 10 shown in the normal weekday slot and eight screened on Saturday nights from March. Alexander Armstrong, 41, said: "It's going to be fun. Including the usual version we'll be on six days out of seven - blimey."
His co-host Richard Osman added: "We haven't changed the show at all for Saturdays, so we'll still be our normal, bumbling, amateur selves." The spin-off, called Pointless Celebrities, will allow stars including Arlene Phillips to win money for their chosen charities. The celebrities are set to include Bill Oddie with fellow wildlife presenter Chris Packham, TV favourites Claire Sweeney and Anthea Turner, Formula 1 host Jake Humphrey and David Coulthard and Arlene Phillips and her daughter Alana. If the weekend shows return for further runs, the pair already know who they'd like to attract. Armstrong would love to see Stephen Fry tackling thethorny subject of Britney Spears songs while Osman fancies Denzel Washington having a go at the rivers of Wiltshire. BBC1 has ordered a total of 158 new episodes of Pointless for the coming year. The show kicked off on BBC2 and was so popular it shifted to BBC1 last July. David Flynn, boss of production company Remarkable Television, laughed: "There are not enough Pointless Celebrities on Saturday night television so it's great to bring our show to this new slot." In Pointless every question is asked to a panel of 100 people before the show - to find out the most obvious and the most obscure answers. The contestants aim to win the fewest points by selecting the least popular responses and the ultimate goal is to find one that none of the 100 people thought of.
