possible release date for next Australian DVD

The GoodiesA number of Australian vendors have started advertising the Goodies Volume 2 DVD. They list a release date of either 2 December or 12 December. In addition, most descriptions say that there will be 6 episodes on this set but the titles listed (such as 'Christmas Night with the Stars') are actually the intended extras.

We hope to have more information about the accuracy of this information, as well as details about the next UK release, in the near future.

Graeme's son on tour with the Scissor Sisters

"On a non-Goodies matter, my son John is currently keyboard player with a group called the Scissor Sisters. The group, who originate from new York, are pretty hot in the UK just now, and are just about to play a US tour this month, before returning for a UK tour in October [sold out, including the Albert Hall!]and then hope to tour Australia in early 2005. Just though the fans might like to know...

Bill Oddie in show about Rolf Harris

The GoodiesBill Oddie will appear in the Monday, 23rd August episode of "The Big Story", which will air at 20:30 on BBC 1.

Here's the listing: "Rolf Harris takes viewers on a journey looking back at 10 years of Animal Hospital. Vets and fans of the programme, including Fiona Bruce, Bill Oddie and Jennie Seagrove talk about how the series began and reveal their favourite stories."

Tim and Bill repeats

The Goodies"Bill Oddie Goes Wild" repeats are being shown on UKTV Documentary and UKTV Documentary Plus 1 at various times throughout the day between Wed, Aug 18th and Tues, Aug 24th.

"Golf Clubs with Tim Brooke-Taylor" is being repeated on Discovery Home & Leisure and Discovery Home & Leisure Plus 1 through at least 28th Aug.

Goodies DVD released in the United States

The Goodies"The Goodies - Three Classic Episodes" was released in the US last Saturday (31 July), although many vendors are still waiting to get the DVD in stock (even Amazon.com is showing the title as being backordered).

This DVD does contain the same footage as the "Kitten Kong" VHS tape which was released in the UK and Australia. It has the episodes "Kitten Kong", "Scatty Safari", and "Scoutrageous" (and yes, "Scatty Safari" does have the same edits as the VHS tape).

The DVD is NTSC Region 0.

If anyone else gets the DVD this week and would like to submit a review (or even just comment on the quality of the DVD) email clarion@goodiesruleok.com to submit your feedback for the next issue of the newsletter.
