new shows with Tim and Graeme
more from same (The Goodies)
The Goodies* Tim's appearance as the narrator for the BBC Proms 2005 version of "HMS Pinafore" will air on Thursday 18th August on BBC1 from 22:35 to 00:05.

* BBC7 repeated "Spy Nozy and the Poets" with Bill Nighy and Graeme Garden yesterday.  It can be heard through this Saturday (Aug. 20th) from BBC7's Listen Again service at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/sunday/.  The show is listed under "Bill Nighy Season" at 13:00-13:45.

* "Bromwell High" with Graeme Garden makes it UK debut this Friday.  The show will air on Channel 4 Fridays at 23:20-23:50.

Here is the Radio Times listing for the first episode, kindly provided by Alison Bean: "This new animated comedy has a decent pedigree: its writers cut their teeth on Goodness Gracious Me. It's a zippy, gleefully misanthropic beast, centred on three lippy schoolgirls who make Catherine Tate's "bovvered" character look like Anne of Green Gables.
But it's Graeme Garden who steals the show, as a monstrously cynical geography teacher. Sometimes, Bromwell High tries a little too hard to shock, but it rattles along at a good pace and has a nice, tight plot. It might help if you watch it having just staggered in from the pub."

* Tim's appearance in the "Absolute Power" is scheduled to air in the UK on Thursday, 25 August on BBC2 from 10:00-10:30pm.

* Tim will appear in "Fawlty Towers at 30" (as a celebrity fan of the show).
It will air on UKTV Gold on Saturday 27th August from 20:00 to 20:05 (yes, the listing says it's only 5 minutes long) and again on UKTV Gold Plus 1 from 21:00 to 21:05.

Australian DVD update - boxed set with previously missing bonus features
more from same (The Goodies)
The GoodiesThanks to John Hatfield for spotting this.

EZY DVD's website reports that a boxed set of Vols 1 and 2 of The Goodies will be released on 1 September.  (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/781815)

Distributor Roadshow Entertainment's website provides further (and very
welcome) news about the set (at
http://www.roadshow.com.au/village_product.asp?txtCatalog=DVD&txtCategory=&t
xtProductID=B01031-9
) - it appears that at least some of the bonus features that were missing from "The Goodies - A Tasty Second Helping" (Goodies Vol.
2 that was released in March) will be on this set.  While the colour version of "Come Dancing" isn't explicitly mentioned I'd be very surprised if that isn't included.

Graeme to return to "Holby City"
more from same (The Goodies)
The GoodiesGraeme Garden will be appearing in several more episodes of "Holby City".
He mentioned that he'll be doing the recordings next month (so please watch your local listings for when they might air).

"Bromwell High" might air in the UK sometime in August.  Again, keep an eye on those listing guides.

Graeme also reports that he and Barry Cryer will be doing another series of "Hamish & Dougal" sometime next year.

updated "1948 Show" DVD cover and sketch listing
more from same (British Comedy)
British ComedyI've updated the photos at http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7yes3/photos/ to show the front and back covers of the newly released "At Last The 1948 Show" and "Do Not Adjust Your Set" DVD sets.

The backs of the DVD cases list of the sketches that appear in each of the included shows. You can also see that Tim Brooke-Taylor appears in one of the episodes of "Do Not Adjust Your Set".

FYI, the scans are of the US releases.

upcoming Tim tv appearances (in the UK)
more from same (The Goodies)
The Goodies* Tim's appearance as narrator of the BBC Proms presentation of "HMS Pinafore" may be broadcast on BBC television on August 18th.

* Tim will be appearing in two episodes of a show called "Heartbeat". I don't know the air dates but apparently the first episode (in which time has a fairly small role) has already been filmed.

* Tim will also be appearing in the current series of "Absolute Power" with John Bird and Stephen Fry.  Again, I don't have a date for this episode but the show airs Thursdays at 22:00 on BBC 2.

I'd appreciate it if our UK members could watch the local listings for these shows.

3 August - "Celebrity Animals" and return of "About A Dog"
more from same (The Goodies)
The GoodiesBill is going to appear in a show called "Top 50 Greatest Celebrity Animals"
this coming Wednesday, 3rd August on Sky One from 20:00 to 22:00.  The listing says, "From heroic mutts to dastardly sharks, animals have always a played an important part in pop culture. Bill Oddie is among the experts counting down our best-loved beasts."  Do we think Twinkle (aka Kitten Kong) will get a mention?

Also on Wednesday, 3rd August, BBC Radio 4 begins a repeat of the series "About a Dog" which was written by Graeme Garden.  The show, which airs from 18:30 to 19:00, stars Alan Davies, Kate Ashfield, and Darren Boyd.  It can be heard online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4.
