| The Goodies tour is returning to Australia! (updated announcement) |
more from same (The Goodies) |
(Here's an updated version of the announcement from 1 September, for people that have just found the Goodies Rule - OK! website.)
Here's some exciting news - the Goodies live stage show is returning to Australia! To quote from the press release, "The Goodies Still Alive On Stage stars UK comic legends Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden. Bill Oddie will feature in the show from London via the wonders of video. The Goodies Still Alive On Stage returns in a new form to continue the tour that may never end, hopefully satisfying demands from every Australian town and city for a Goodies visit."
To answer some of your anticipated questions:
Q: Which cities will the tour be visiting? When do tickets go on sale? A: Tickets are currently available for Perth, Parramatta, Launceston, Hobart, Geelong, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Albury, Canberra, Adelaide, Rockhampton, Cairns, and Townsville. Tickets for Melbourne go on sale to the general public on Friday, 23 September (there will be an advance sale for club member starting Weds, 21 September).
Full details about these shows (including where to purchase tickets) can be found in the club FAQ at http://www.goodiesruleok.com/faq.php?topic=10.
Further shows to be confirmed.
Q: Will there be ticket pre-sales for club members? A: While the producers were unable to set up ticket pre-sales in most cities they have arranged a VERY LIMITED amount of preferential seating for the club. This is available on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested in these seats I advise you to book early for the best chance of getting them; so far they've only been available for the first day or two after a show has gone on sale.
In order to request the preferential seating you must book either by calling or visiting the theater box office or by calling the ticketing agency. When ordering you mention the code word. This was emailed to the goodies-l and C&G mailing lists. It is also available to registered users of the website - if you are logged in you will find the code word in a box on the left side of the page.
Q: Why is Bill only participating by video? A: Despite his best efforts, Bill wasn't able to reschedule all his filming commitments in order to join Tim and Graeme live in Australia (as fan club members will know, Bill has a heavy travel & filming schedule for his BBC nature shows).
Q: When will we hear about additional shows? A: The club has been promised updates as soon as they are available.
Use the "click here for more" link (in the bottom corner of this box) to see a parital press release about the tour. You can view the tour flyer at http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7yes3/thegoodiesstillaliveonstage/.
Updates will be posted as they become available.

* Tickets for Melbourne go on sale to club members next Wednesday, 21 September and to the general public on Friday, 23 September.

Coffs Harbour booking info: At present the FAQ does not include a booking number for the show at the Ex-Servicemans Club in Coffs Harbour. We're awaiting this info and will post it as soon as possible.

You must book either by calling or visiting the theater box office or by calling the ticketing agency to obtain the preferential seating (it will not be available online).
* For Melbourne - please note that there won't be preferential seating during the advance ticket sale that's been set up for club members (on Sept 21st-22nd). Preferential seating *will* be available once tickets go on sale to the general public on Sept. 23rd (though obviously it'll be advantageous to book tickets during the advance sale). To request preferential seating in Melbourne you'll need to contact The Arts Centre Mail Bookings Dept either by email (mailbook@theartscentre.net.au), fax (0396457770), or mail (PO Box 7153 Melbourne Vic 8004)
Fan get-togethers: Some posts are popping up in the club forums about get-togethers being organized in various cities before or after the Goodies shows. You might like to check these out (or consider organizing one in your town!)

| new tour dates announced in 12 additional Australian cities! |
more from same (The Goodies) |
Tickets have already gone on sale for the shows in Parramatta, Launceston, Hobart, and Perth. Dates in an additional twelve cities have just been announced!
Please note that tickets for all these cities *except Melbourne* will go on sale next Monday, 19 September.
Tickets for Melbourne will go on sale to the general public next Friday, 23 September. However, a special advance ticket purchase has been arranged for members of the fan club two days earlier (on Wednesday, 21 September). The code word for the advance ticket sale is the same as the preferential seating code word (which is visible to registered users who are logged in). You should be able to book through Ticketmaster, online or in person at the Arts Centre.
Preferential seating should be available for all shows. In order to request the preferential seating you must book either by calling or visiting the theater box office or by calling the ticketing agency (it will only be available online for Melbourne). To keep things simple they're using the same code word for all shows. Please remember that the preferential seating is limited and tends to go quickly.

| Parramatta tickets on sale Tues instead of Monday |
more from same (The Goodies) |
I've just learned that the Parramatta tickets will go on sale tomorrow (Tues, 13 Sept) instead of today. Apparently a last minute change was made to the on sale date and the club didn't receive the update. My apologies to everyone who was inconvenienced by getting the incorrect info.
I've been told that Hobart and Launceston have gone on sale today, as originally announced.
