Goodies documentary recording in London

You may have read the recent interview with Tim Brooke-Taylor (at http://seven.com.au/news/topstories/110690 and elsewhere) in which he mentioned that BBC 2 is putting together a Goodies documentary to be shown around Christmas. The news gets even better - later this month Tim, Graeme and Bill will be recording part of the show in front of a studio audience in London. I've been told they'll be discussing some of the best moments from "The Goodies".

The "Goodies Theme Night" special recording will take place Sunday 23rd October at 7pm at:
The London Studios
Upper Ground
London SE1 9LT

Entry is strictly ticket only (tickets are free). The only way to apply for tickets is via the website of the audience company STANDING ROOM ONLY (http://www.sroaudiences.com/). Details will appear on their site in the next day or so.

another show has been added in Perth

An additional Goodies show is being added in Perth. It will be on Saturday, 19 November at 8:00pm at His Majesty's Theatre. Tickets for this show go on sale this Saturday, 8 October from www.bocsticketing.com.au and 08 9484 1133.

We've once again been able to arrange a small amount of preferential seating for fan club members. This can be requested if you order your tickets by phone and give the code word (I don't believe you can request the preferential seating online). The code word has been emailed to the goodies-l mailing list; registered users of this site who are logged in can see it in a box on the left-hand side of the page.

Tickets are already on sale for the other three shows in Perth (Thu 17 Nov at 7:00pm plus Fri 18 Nov at 7:00pm and 9:30pm). Preferential seating is no longer available for these shows.

Goodies interviews to watch for in Australian newspapers

Tim and Graeme did interviews with some Australian newspaper journalists late last week as promotion for the upcoming tour. Tim's interview with the AAP was printed this weekend (I posted the URL in another news item). I don't know when the other interviews will appear. Let us know if you spot one in your local paper.

The publications to watch are:

* The Daily Telegraph
* The Parramatta Advertiser
* The Launceston Examiner
* The West Australian
* The Geelong Advertiser
* The North Daily Leader

I'll let you know when I hear about further interviews.

Tim's in "Heartbeat" (in the UK) on Sunday, 9 October

Tim Brooke-Taylor will appear in "HeartBeat" on ITV on Sunday 9th October at 20:00.

Also, Bill's "The Truth about Killer Dinosaurs" has already been scheduled for a repeat. I found it listed on BBC 1 on Tuesday 11th October at 03:55 to 04:55. There was a second airing on Friday 14th October at 03:05 to 04:05; it appears both of these are broadcasts of part 1 (of this two part series). However, it'd be best for someone in the UK to check the local listings to verify this.

An AAP article about the Goodies upcoming tour has popped up a couple of places online - so far I've found it at Seven.com.au (http://seven.com.au/news/topstories/110690) and ninemsn (http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=65430). It's probably appeared in print as well.

Goodies mini-marathon coming up on UK-TV Australia this weekend

Thanks to Brian Labza for sending this information to the goodies-l mailing list.

Please note there will be a Goodies mini-marathon this weekend on Foxtel (Australia wide).

UK-TV will be showing 18 episodes (including most of seasons 1 and 2). These will air in three 3-hour blocks from 2.30 to 5.30 pm on Sat 1/10, Sun 2/10 and Mon 3/10.

Tickets for the Goodies show at IPAC Wollongong on 14 November at 7:00pm go on sale tomorrow, Friday, 30 September from www.ipac.org.au and 02 4226 3366.

A small amount of preferential seating will be available for members of the fan club. To request these seats you must call the booking number and give the code word (which is visible to club members who are logged in to the site). I don't believe the preferential seating will be available online.

UK Goodies DVDs on sale from Sendit.com

I was just visiting UK retailer sendit.com, where I noticed the Goodies DVDs are on sale. Volume 1 ("The Goodies - At Last!") is marked down to £9.99. Volume 2 ("At Last A Second Helping") is priced at £17.99. The box set containing both volumes is on sale for £38.99, though since the UK box set just contains the two separate sets in a cardboard slipcase it's a better value to buy Vols 1&2 separately. If you want to check these out you can use the link in the Merchandise box on the right side of this page.

If you're aware of a reliable vendor offering better prices for these DVDs (or the Australian sets) please let us know by adding a comment to this note.
