tribute to Linda Smith in Edinburgh tomorrow night
more from same (British Comedy)
British ComedyAccording to http://www.edinburgh-festivals.com/news.cfm?id=1228962006, a tribute to Linda Smith will be held tomorrow evening at the Assembly Rooms.
I don't know if Tim or Graeme will be participating in the show, but their ISIHAC cast mast Barry Cryer is scheduled to appear.

Here's a cut & paste of the article:

Comedians stage benefit show for late Fringe star

A HOST of Fringe comedians are to appear at a benefit concert in memory of the late Linda Smith.

Well known for her frequent appearances on Radio 4's The News Quiz, Have I Got News For You, Room 101 and Mock the Week, Ms Smith died in February of ovarian cancer, aged 48.

She was a regular performer at the Fringe, and her partner Warren Laken has organised the event to raise money for some of the many charities she supported.

These include the mining families of Corton Wood colliery and Brampton village, where she worked in 1984, and where she was helping to fund a programme of youth arts projects.

Ms Smith also had a long-term relationship with a pair of orphanages in Tigray, in northern Ethiopia, and some of the money raised will go towards providing them with play equipment.

Among the comedians taking part in the free midnight show are Tim Clark, Barry Cryer, Hattie Hayridge, Adam Hills, Jeff Green, Fred MacAulay, Chris Neill and Lucy Porter.

Ms Smith performed on the Fringe regularly between 1988 and 1995, playing at the Gilded Balloon, the Pleasance and the Assembly Rooms, whose artistic director William Burdett-Coutts was pleased to provide space for the benefit concert.

Mr Laken said: "We have already done some tribute shows in England and someone suggested doing a benefit at the Fringe, because Linda used to be a regular there. All of the people taking part were either close friends of Linda or fans who wanted to take part, and the support has been great."

Mr Laken is also writing a book documenting Linda's work due out later this year and a biography which will be released next year.

The benefit is being held in the Assembly Rooms at midnight tomorrow
