| "Play It Again" and "Star Portraits" with Bill |
more from same (British Comedy) |
Thanks to Wackywales for the following news!
The series "Play it Again", in which celebrities learn to play musical instruments, will start its run on BBC 1 Sunday, 25th March at 8pm. Bill will appear in an upcoming episode. The first two episodes (on 25 March and 1 April) feature Jo Brand and Frank Skinner. We'll watch the listings for Bill's appearance, in which he learns to play the electric guitar.
"Star Portraits with Rolf Harris" will also feature Bill in an upcoming episode. As the show also airs on BBC 1 on Sunday nights Wackywales suggested we might be in for a Bill double-bill (um, no bird pun intended ). "Star Portraits" is a series in which 3 professional artists paint 3 completely different styles of portrait of a famous person. Some samples of previous work can be found at http://www.starportraits.co.uk/programme.htm

| upcoming radio show with Graeme |
more from same (British Comedy) |
I'm afraid the details about this are a bit sketchy, but you can earn your wig spotters badge by helping to find the info.
Graeme recorded a radio programme on the topic of Scottish vs English humour. It is due to be broadcast one Saturday morning in the near future on BBC Radio 4. We'll try to find out the title and air date.
ADDENDUM Very shortly after posting the above cscamp earned the badge by spotting the following:
Take An Englishman And A Scotsman Saturday 31 March 10.30-11.00am BBC RADIO 4 (www.bbc.co.uk/radio4)
Graeme Garden presents a tongue-in-cheek look at what the English and Scots have in common and what they don't.
With a rich mix of comedy clips and contributions from such eminent figures as Ronnie Corbett and Stanley Baxter, Graeme discovers why there's a real difference in humour north and south of the border.
Graeme, who was born in Aberdeen and has spent most of his working life south of the border, takes an intriguing and entertaining journey through the comedy stereotypes of England and Scotland, from the "bowler-hatted toffs" of the south to the "kilted sporran-wearers" of the north.

| ISIHAC news - Humph on "The South Bank Show" & fall tour |
more from same (British Comedy) |
Here's an email from the ISIHAC mailing list about this weekend's edition of "The South Bank Show" featuring Humphrey Lyttelton. It also mentions the plan for the Clue live tour (mentioned in an earlier news item) to start in the fall.
Dear I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue Mailing List Member
Just to let you know that Humphrey Lyttelton will be the subject of The South Bank Show on Sunday March 25th at 11.10pm. The programme will feature clips of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, plus interviews with Tim Brooke-Taylor, Barry Cryer and Graeme Garden.
Here's a link:
http://www.itv.com/page.asp?partid=2701
Also, those who've found it difficult to get tickets to see a recording of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue over the past few series or more, will be pleased to hear that we will be touring a special 'live' and not for broadcast version of the show in September this year. The show will be a sort of 'Best of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue' with Jeremy Hardy as our special guest. We will send venue details when we have them.
With best wishes
Jon Naismith, Producer ISIHAC

more from same (The Goodies) |
The Goodies - The Complete LWT Series will be released in the UK next Monday, 26 March. We can finally confirm that it will include commentaries for 2 episodes, "Change of Life" and "Holidays", along with the other, previously announced bonus features. Those include script PDFs, a commemorative booklet written by Andrew Pixley, archive interviews & music performances, and a stills gallery.
I was pleased to spot the DVD at #5 on Sendit.com's list of Top 10 Pre-Orders (http://www.sendit.com/dvd/)
Both www.amazon.co.uk and www.sendit.com currently have the DVD available for pre-order at £15.98; I'm sure other vendors are offering great deals as well. Also check out the special pricing on the two already released Goodies DVDs if you still need them for your collection!

| Graeme's Goodies tour blog |
more from same (The Goodies) |
Many thanks to Graeme Garden and the folks at the Saucy Gibbon site (www.the-goodies.co.uk) for the following. The site had asked if it would be possible for Tim & Graeme to provide a blog or diary about their tour. Graeme has kindly sent the following and asked that it be shared with the fan club members as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The tour has been going very nicely so far. Torquay was a disappointingly small turnout, but it was a big theatre in an out-of-season holiday town, and the response was nonetheless warm. We’ve had much fuller audiences at the other gigs, and apart from a few minor technical hitches (one night Tim’s microphone made noises like a rocket attack and he had to rely on vocal power alone for a while) the shows have gone well and been very happily received. Tim and I are especially pleased, and relieved, that Teddy and Freddy seem to be amusing the audiences in a very gratifying way. We always enjoyed playing the characters, and it’s great fun to be doing them again. Frank and Matt have been looking after us and running the shows with their customary cheerful efficiency and are, as always, a pleasure to be with. All the best to the members and a big thank you to all those who are turning out to support us. We’re looking forward to the rest of the tour and will try to keep you up to date with news on the road. Goody wishes to one and all Graeme
