3. FEATURE ARTICLE WHAT'S IN A NAME? by Andrew Pixley
"It is also worth noting the project numbers for the episodes which show production order, different from transmission order:" Bill: "I used to have a pet rabbit once.......and at no stage did he ever strap me to the couch and stick carrots in my ears!" |

Thank you, I've tried searching, and will read through them all... you don't happen to know which one it was, do you? |

Andrew wrote a very good article on the production order for the old Clarion & Globe newsletter that the club used to have. The article can be found in the Articles/Guides section of this web site. |

Thank you for that Wahski (and I'll have to treat myself to that book for Christmas I think).
I really like Pollution... it's not as overtly funny as some of their other entries, but it has a nice easy pace and lots to say. I find some of the earlier ones pretty charming, and Bill's song is great in it IMO. |

Taking advantage of the info from Andrew Pixley's Super Chaps Three book http://www.lulu.com/shop/andrew-pixley/the-goodies-super-chaps-three/ebook/product-20882314.html (this is link to epub version but I prefer the actual book)
It says the following (summarised)
Pollution
Project number 1151/2154 Episode was edited Mon 26 Jul 1971 BBC copy is dated 16 Dec 1971
Kitten Kong (1971) Project number 1151/2157
The remake (Montreux special 1972) of Kitten Kong Project number 1151/2020 Program was edited Sunday 19 Mar 1972
So if we take the project number as a guide when they were made, assuming they are incremented as more are made. I'd say Pollution first, then Kitten Kong then the Kitten Kong remake. Bill: "I used to have a pet rabbit once.......and at no stage did he ever strap me to the couch and stick carrots in my ears!" |

Hi,
I've just been searching for production dates on the episodes, but can't see it covered. I know that the great booklets in the DVDs discuss it, but only in relation (naturally enough) to the episodes that are on the discs.
The one I'm really curious about is the order of "Pollution" and "Kitten Kong". I noticed Pollution was the first to take the series outside of its semi-realistic framework by having Graeme invent some sci-fi potion, and also introducing the flying trandrem. It aired before Kitten Kong, but was it made first, does anyone know?
Great site btw... I'm just rewatching the episodes, and take a look at the reviews on here after I've seen them. |
