2. BOFFO IDEAS
**************
You can make it happen here. Liven up the club with a boffo idea for bob-a-job week. E-mail <enquiries@goodiesruleok.com> with your comments, ideas or suggestions - meanwhile these are the boffo ideas which our club has been working on this month:
C&G TO GO QUARTERLY
Since the inception of GROK in November 1995, the Goodies Clarion & Globe newsletter has been issued on a monthly basis containing all of the good, good Goodies news that's fit to print (and quite a bit that isn't! :)) With the inclusion of various special editions, we're nudging very close to having issued 200 editions of the C&G in total – a remarkable achievement considering that The Goodies concluded almost 30 years ago and that repeats of episodes on TV (particularly in the UK) have been occasional at best until quite recently.
Over this period of time, Goodies fans are much more readily able to access Goodies news than when the C&G started. Most people now have home internet access and are able to tap into the GROK website and its associated resources to obtain Goodies news in a far more instant fashion than by reading it in a monthly newsletter, often when an event has already passed and a Listen Again link is no longer available.
Therefore it has been decided that the C&G is to be changed to a quarterly publication which will be issued in February, May, August and November each year. It will still contain all of the regular features such as Quiz & Quote, Goodies puzzles, feature articles and occasional themed articles and music reviews as well as Goodies spottings and links to articles that are still current at the time of publication, so it will continue to fulfil its current role as a useful summary of Goodies-related information, but over a 3-monthly period.
If there are any super major announcements between quarterly C&G issues (such as new DVD releases, proposed tours etc) we will send a newsflash out to the C&G mailing list, but otherwise it will be a case of "Extra, extra, read all about it" next in November.
3. SPOTTED!!!
*************
More exciting than getting your wig-spotters badge! If you've seen the Goodies recently, e-mail <clarion@goodiesruleok.com> with the details. Here's where we've Spotted!!! the Goodies this month:
THE GOODIES … AND SOME UNTOLD KAPERS
Jenny has asked me to pass along these updates about the private preview evening (on July 15th):
2. In addition to celebrating the opening of the artwork exhibition, the preview evening will also celebrate Tim's birthday and his getting an OBE.
(Lisa Manekofsky – 14th Jul)
THE GOODIES PODCAST
New Goodies Podcasts since last month's C&G:
#63: Commentary: The Tower of London
#64: The Sveeden (with Isabell Olevall)
GP Extra – August 2011
4. 2001 AND A BIT
*****************
If you've sighted Tim, Bill or Graeme in a post-Goodies role, e-mail <clarion@goodiesruleok.com> so that we can tell everyone where to spot a Goodie nowadays. Large files (such as scans of articles or photos) for posting on the club's website can be sent to us at: groksite@gmail.com
Those of you seeking radio and tv alerts between issues of the C&G should consider signing up for the Goodies-l mailing list (more details available on the club website), as our crack (cracked?!) team of reporters attempt to post alerts as the information becomes available.

BILL SPOTTINGS
.
* Bill Oddie is to be interviewed on Oxfordshire's 106 JackFM tomorrow morning (Thursday, 14 July). I believe he will be on air around 8:30-9:00am, but it is possible the interview will begin earlier than that.
It appears from the radio station's website (http://www.jackfm.co.uk/ ) that their online player is not available to overseas listeners. Perhaps someone who records the show can share the interview with the international fans.
(14th Jul)
Magic's website does have a Listen Again feature, but it doesn't appear to be working for me here in the US at least.
(14th Jul)
* Bill Oddie appeared on Bernie Keith's BBC Radio Northampton show this past Wednesday, 13 July to talk about the importance of feeding birds all year round. That episode is available on the BBC iPlayer until this Wednesday, 20 July at noon (UK time) from the link below. Bill's interview starts at 2 hours 41 minutes into the show.
Bill did some other radio shows last week - if you have a link to the interviews, please let us know!
(18th Jul)
The actual interview is currently available from http://tinyurl.com/3wq7b2k - scroll to "The Morning Mix with Simon Pauley" and click on the "Wednesday" link. I assume this will only be available until next Wednesday's show replaces it. The interview starts at 1 hour 8 minute mark.
(29th Jul)
(6th Aug)
GRAEME SPOTTINGS
* Thanks to the Saucy Gibbon for the info that Graeme appeared on BBC Oxford's Breakfast Show on 12 July (to chat about Chipping Norton's connection to the "News of the World" phone hacking story). The interview is available on the BBC iPlayer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00ht41p/Phil_Gayle_12_07_2011/ ) and starts at 1 hour, 22 minutes and 50 seconds into the show. This is available for playback from the iPlayer through next Tuesday morning (19 July), UK time.
(14th Jul)
* Graeme Garden & Jon Naismith's company Random Entertainment has a newly updated website at http://www.randomentertainment.co.uk/ - if you browse around the site you'll find some nice photos of Tim & Graeme from various Random productions (such as "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue").
(31st Jul)
(6th Aug)
TIM SPOTTINGS
(6th Aug)
I thought this week's show was the funniest I've heard yet. It's available on iPlayer until this coming Thursday.
(Kimba W. Lion – 12th Aug)
I'M SORRY I HAVEN'T A CLUE (ISIHAC) and
I'M SORRY I'LL READ THAT AGAIN (ISIRTA)
* Those who are keeping up with the ISIRTA reruns on Radio 4 Extra should know that the Beeb has been good about presenting complete shows from the 1970 season. Until this week. Apparently one sketch that was OK in 1970 is too controversial to air nowadays. So naturally I uploaded a copy of that sketch, which was deleted in its entirety from this week's broadcast.
If you have the ISIRTA CDs, you needn't bother about this since the whole show is on CD. But for those depending on the 4 Extra broadcasts, here's the missing sketch:
(Kimba W. Lion – 9th Aug)
